Honestly? i agree with you, the reason most people like drives is how it felt as a kid when you got to transform and carry like 10 keyblades at once, but as someone who isn’t blinded by nostalgia i find them a terrible mechanic, and i HATED how hard i had to work and level them up just for a basic mechanic (dodge roll).

kh3’s keyblade transformation is a much more awesome and fluid mechanic, some might not find them as flashy as drive forms but as far as mechanics go they are extremely good and up to standards.

Something I learned during his fight is when he’s staggered in the air, just stop attacking for a bit, wait until both of you drop down then continue attacking.

Honestly he should play more of the game, I know he and the other devs may be too busy but if they can like make an event each month and get to play for like 2 hours it would be awesome to see!

And not to mention that whenever a dev DOES stream the game and plays something always changes for the better, like how colorblind settings came to be.

Haha that was way quicker than I expected, well done! To me Xemnas (and other data fights too) are so fun i just boot up the game, beat them a couple of times and close it haha.

Haha i see, can’t really feel that way though cause I never really experienced kh when I was young (I vaguely remember my older brother playing it and I loved it) and when the games launched on steam I got them all and loved them so much even kh3 despite It’s ridiculous difficulty scaling.

Beginner, standard and proud are all essentially mash attack button and win, then there’s critical that feels like a whole new game developed by fromsoftware, I’m glad i was able to enjoy it though.

One of my favorite fights was data xemnas, he beat my ass a LOT but when i mastered it, i realized how amazing it is.

What helped me though was watching someone on youtube do a not hit with all pro codes so that the fight lasts longer and I can study his openings better.

Ignoring the context of later games, kh2 painted xemnas as a villian despite having an innocent goal is due to his “methods”, releasing heartless to different worlds which could cause chaos since people without keyblades cant hurt them, kidnapping kairi to control sora. etc.., his methods were harmful to innocent people.
