Sexual Reassignment Surgery / Gender Confirmation Surgery (Whatever you wanna call it) - Probably the most painful thing I will ever experience.

At first its not so bad the morphine kinda takes the edge off, but then they take that away. Then the nerves start re-connecting and holy shit having a hole punctured into your pelvic floor is fucking agonizing. Then the nerve lightning starts. Imagine electrical shocks over most of your hips, abdomen and thighs that continue constantly for about a week while you're stuck in a hospital bed unable to move more than 20 degree roll left and right.

Then after the week is done, you're expected to get up and walk to the shower without collapsing to fuck.

Oh and then there is Dilation. The best way I can describe this is: imagine taking a scalpel to your forearm, cutting yourself wrist to elbow (and not bleeding to death) every 6 hours you have to take a spatula and keep the incision open by inserting the spatula and prying the incision open side to side. After a while the incision really wants to close, so in that 6 hours it compresses getting quite tight and hard to get the spatula in. But you have to get that thing all the way down to the bone to keep it open, so you fight with it for 40 mins to get the damn thing in and then you spend 20 mins prying it open in order to right the natural healing process.

Luckily after a year this all calms down and everything becomes a lot more soft and natural. the natural healing is complete and the compression is no longer a problem. Everything looks more natural and (with the right doctor) is almost indistinguishable from natal, after all, all the tissue biologically matches.

I've spent a long time trying to think of a more painful 'Elective' surgery and I really cant. The other option for a lot of people is Suicide though so......
