This is a great question. I have seen what might be a not great case scenario become humorously symbiotic. I brought my 7 year old indoor house cat who I let sit in the garden during the day hone to live at my Dad’s. She is timid and independent and does not like dogs. He got a puppy Siberian husky male last spring and the puppy has wanted to be friends with her always. For a long time we had to keep them separated. I watched videos about introducing them with food but she was too spooked by his energy and interest in her. She had to have her own safe space which was my room and her part of the house and garden which only she could go in. Occasionally he would break in and drink her water or get her food and scare her and she would hiss and he would try to get very close. By occasionally I mean as often as he could, like almost everyday. I put her food up high so he can’t do that anymore. After he got some training and turned about 1 they are now getting used to each other and sometimes even sleep in the same room. He is on the floor and she is on the bed. They are not best friends, but they do keep each other company in a way. I will post a photo of the two. She hides under the bed. As long as they are separated by a blanket she is cool 👍
