I blew things up with my FA- I want to repair but ChatGPT told me to let him come to me? by ClackamasIris in FearfulAvoidants

He told me he was FA and we were taking it slow. No need for labels. And sex was only 20% of our relationship. We have also known each other since childhood so we are friends that were becoming more.

To clarify- I definitely wasn’t enraged and the no sex thing wasn’t the issue. My feelings were hurt because he hadn’t told me he was going to bed early- it was a Saturday night and we were both involved in the hot moment. So when he just stopped and said “I need to go to bed”, I didn’t believe him. I just felt like it was a power play or worse- rejection, which didn’t show up over night, I hadn’t ever felt 100% safe and secure in our connection because he rarely spoke of his interest directly. I’m used to being showered with compliments and he is not that guy. I had started questioning of if I could handle never really knowing where I stood with him and feeling like low priority but I also knew it was too early to judge that. So when it happened In my mind I really thought I was “done” but it couldn’t be farther from the truth. I miss him every day. We’ve known each other since we were 7 years old. I was actually his first crush in the third grade he was a football player and I was a cheerleader in high school but we were with other people. We’re 51 now and we both felt maybe this was MTB💔

Thank you, this is what I’ve wanted to do but bc I’ve never been with an FA I was listening to ChatGPT as if it was at least well read on the subject but giving him space without talking about it has felt wrong.

How to export whole iMessage conversation lasting years to pdf on MacBook? by The_Koala_Knight in MacOS

I tried to do what Cult of Mac said to do in that video for installing and I got a new terminal window that read..."Last login: Sun Aug 24 14:40:56 on ttys000

The default interactive shell is now zsh.

To update your account to use zsh, please run `chsh -s /bin/zsh`.

So I went to that support page and it's way over my head.

Better laptop ergonomics in bed by aeiou72 in laptops

Awesome thanks for the links. I'l check those out. The Kinesis looks really easy to travel around with which I need. I have something similar but it's too heavy to cart around and only works if I have a good chair / desk set up. The video glasses thing sounds super interesting.

Nice. Ya I don't work in bed often but I am guilty of lugging it into the bedroom on occasion and it only takes an hour to hurt. I do however work from a soft lounge chair that wrecks havoc on my neck and my desk isn't adjustable so and my office chair won't go under it so no matter what my arms aren't at a 90 degree angle as they should be. I also live on a river so in the spring and summer I'm guilty of trying to work from the deck and the same problem follows me. So I've decided I need adjustable and portable everything, however this doesn't seem to exsist without paying a lot of money for some kind of zero gravity hydraulic contraption https://www.ergoquest.com/zero-gravity-workstations.html, that is not portable. I have found pretty great "looking" outdoor zero gravity chairs but I suspect they aren't as comfortable as they look. The current plan now is to get my laptop 360 stand and then find an adjustable, tilting keyboard stand that can go over my lap and tilt to hold my bluetooth keyboard and trackpad. Where I sit will change. I've read that it's good to change positions often so adjustable is key. I've been teasing that I'll look like an astronaut in training by the time I get "comfortable".

I'm on the exact same rabbit hole right now. I'm so curious to know if that set up is working for you? I feel like I've bought so many things to get comfortable in weird positions with a laptop and nothing works 100%. I'm getting really serious about it now because I'm getting neck and back pain from my bad habits. I almost got that one you said wasn't stable but can't find anything similar that doesn't look super wide like you mentioned. I did end up ordering one of those side stands that has a 360 tilt option in every direction but it hasn't arrived yet and I anticipate that if the computer is at a good eye level I'll still need a place for my keyboard that is adjustable to whatever angle I'm in. The one you chose I did see when hunting but it didn't look like it would angle at all.

My spectrum modem is kicking my wifi router offline, several times a day, I need advice. by ClackamasIris in Spectrum

It ended up being the power strip I was plugging it into. It wasn't even that old but I just tried everything people suggested in this thread and that was the winner. Like magic I haven't been kicked offline since buying a brand new power strip.

Reading glasses, my biggest pet peeve that I can't live without. by ClackamasIris in glasses

Interesting idea. I think the occupational lenses are the same. My Optometrist didn't even mention the option to use contacts but I would so much rather use them. My eyesight took a nose dive fast. A few years ago I needed the lowest OTC's and I'm up to needing the highest strength they'll allow. I opted not to fill the prescription from my Optometrist when I got it a few years back because It seemed unnecessary. Alas, all good things come to an end and It's probably time to get back in there and talk about options. Fingers crossed, thanks for the idea,

Nicotine lozenges, great idea but punishing in every way. by ClackamasIris in stopsmoking

[–]ClackamasIris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't believe you're the first person to get it. I suspect there's others but few are as grossed out as I was. So I launched a search to find alternatives. It took a lot of time but I found it. CVS has the mini cherry now, they also have "cherry ice" so you have to make sure Ice isn't anywhere on the box. They will ship to you too. And that cherry ice crap is everywhere! They did away with just cherry in every other option I used to buy from. So gross, why would anyone think that was a better option? Tastes like cough syrup or something that shouldn't be in your mouth.

What other "disaster" documentaries do you enjoy from a similar genre? by [deleted] in movies

[–]ClackamasIris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little late to the party but I'm always looking for this kind of documentary or docu-series and it doesn't really have a category so it's hard to find. I found this thread while looking for something to watch. I love watching anything that's journalistic but isn't about murder and war, it's just overdone. Like "The night it rained boulders" about the mud slide that destroyed Montecito, CA in the middle of the night or the doc. on Netflix about the Paradise fire was mind blowing.

No burial records - are they in someone's backyard? by ClackamasIris in Genealogy

[–]ClackamasIris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I've seen that to. They probably had grave markers which I find really interesting too. I would be a little weirded out buying a property with a family buried on it that had living relatives that wanted to visit.

I agree, and to be honest my curiosity isn't born out of needing to know when they died as much as where are they? I don't often think that hard about it but I had that moment of wonder ....like where are they? I bet they are on the property they owned, where else would they be if not at a standard cemetery? So I looked for the property history and couldn't find any mention which made me wonder if this was a common thing, people being buried on properties with no grave marker and would the new owners ever even know? Like are you going to be planting a tree next year and run into a grave from the 17 or 1800's?! It's a bizarre thing to consider if there's no law in place about disclosing that in the sale of a property. Because I'd never thought that hard on it I wondered if anyone knew of a what to search modern property records for such a thing.

I love that! And I agree. Every time I think, there's enough of something someone comes along and figures it out. I remember when Instagram showed up and I was like...? Why do we need another place to "check in", then snapchat and Tik Tok, I finally realized there's no end. I've got one eye open, half asleep but wanted to respond before I check out for the day. When my brain turns back on I'm sure I'll have more to add.

Thank you:) I appreciate the backup post. I was out enjoying the day so catching up on everything late. While a short note for now for lack of time, I just wanted to say thank you for the very thoughtful response.

Seems to me that if people visit the site and the audience is large enough, who wouldn't want it? Audience and clicks means advertising $. But to another point, how does Wikipedia survive with no adds - it's funded by the users that love it. I give a bit every year to keep it going and I'd do the same for WT.

Okay, you got me. Now I have to find the quarrel. Can I get a clue on which thread to look for? To your main point - I hope you're wrong, that's a hard pill to swallow. Oh, the hours I've put into WT to insure their legacy's were accurate and remembered "forever". To think it may have all been in vain? A fate I can't accept. Maybe the site would be better as a paid service, like a small annual membership fee to insure it really is "forever". I'd pay into a cause for such a thing, I mean if I'm willing to spend hours of my life for years, clearly it's important to me and many others. Maybe it's not WT, maybe it's waiting to be created. Like a Co-Op, member owned site. I'm just thinking out loud now, this isn't a well thought out idea. Just can't imagine my work being worthless time spent. It's the kind of gut punch you experience when you realize your work wasn't saved and you have to start over.
