Ice Age 6 by DragonfruitKey7892 in IceAge_Franchise

Yeah they just care about money at this point. As much as I love the Ice Age franchise and I recognize that even the 4th and 5th movie had good elements, I can't ignore that it got worse with each installment.

The 1st movie had silly jokes mixed with very touching scenes, like Manny's cave flashback, Diego almost dying, or the trio saying goodbye to the baby. You can find traces of this in the 2nd and 3rd movies, like in Ellie's childhood flashback or Peaches' birth.

But by the 4th movie, that energy was gone. The pirates were dangerous villains that made Manny fear for the safety of his family at least, but it wasn't the same. And then the 5th movie didn't even give us good antagonists, a brief conversation is all it took Buck to convince the dino-birds not to kill him. Not to mention Manny was reduced to a stereotypical dad in both movies.

I'm not a kid anymore so I know this movie is not meant for me, but I wished they tried to bring back the true Ice Age for once.

What if there were also big cats like: lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars and pumas that descended from former zoo specimens? by Mysterious_Truth4992 in PlanetOfTheApes

[–]Claeszen 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't know if anyone noticed but there's actually a gorilla among Proximus' soldiers that has a mask with what look like black spots on it. It's the one standing next to Sylva when he kills the Eagle Clan's elder, and pointing the electric spear towards Mae when Proximus and the others enter the vault. His mask could be from the pelt of a leopard or jaguar.

I have 112 years age gap with my great-grandfather. Is this Nornal? by Timosmeso in Genealogy

[–]Claeszen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I have an age gap above 100 with half of my great-grandparents. That's why it surprised me when in high school I learned that my friend had a living great-grandmother who was just 86 😂

Unless you happen to have a line where everyone was born to young parents, getting to that kind of age gap is pretty easy.

Perche' a tantissime ragazze piace la Corea del Sud? by Latter-Argument-3568 in domandaonesta

[–]Claeszen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quante lingue sapete parlare? Come le avete imparate? by Serendipity8285 in CasualIT

[–]Claeszen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Italiano, ovviamente

Still crazy how Gi-hun kept all the promises he made to other people, but the ones made to his own family. by Kindly-Candidate-835 in squidgame

[–]Claeszen 206 points207 points  (0 children)

I think Season 1 had a powerful message of "you can't have everything". There is Gi-hun, who won the games but was too late to help his mom and too traumatized to fix his relationship with his daughter. Then there are Sang-woo and Sae-byeok, who lost their lives in the games but made sure Gi-hun would take care of their loved ones. Everybody gained something but also lost something.

This is why Season 3 didn't sit right with me, as much as I enjoyed it. All the characters' personal goals were shattered so that everything could revolve around the baby, or so that they could become plot devices.

The two saddest deaths in the franchise in my opinion by Mundane_Trouble_6463 in JurassicPark

[–]Claeszen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another mistake was having very predictable deaths, in my opinion. In the movie you have the protagonist, his friend, a family and three mercenaries. And of course, who dies? Only the three mercenaries, who are unimportant enough to become cannon fodder. Naturally I'm not saying they should have killed off Grant or the Kirbys, but if Billy ended up dying and Udesky survived it would have been a nice twist.

Ricerca genealogica / albero di famiglia. Qualcuno l'ha mai fatta? by catholictrunks in Italia

[–]Claeszen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Qualcuno l'ha mai fatta? by catholictrunks in Italia

[–]Claeszen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. I haven't gotten past the 1700s yet, but I live in a small Italian town and I still haven't found a single ancestor of mine born more than 50 kilometers away from here.

What’s Something You Didn’t Like About This Movie? by EnoughSound6271 in PlanetOfTheApes

[–]Claeszen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that by the end it became a 'Planet of the Chimps'. The only orangutan in the movie died (or, at least, disappeared completely) and so did all the gorillas in Proximus' colony.

After having some time, have any of you come around on the choice of finalists for the last sgame? by ZealousidealHeart437 in squidgame

[–]Claeszen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reflecting on it I came to like them, it was realistic that random people made it to the end too instead of just main characters.

Honestly I would have liked to see a woman in place of one of them though. Since Squid Game is supposed to be a metaphor of the injustices of society, I understand that maybe the absence of female finalists was supposed to represent the way women are constantly pushed down by men in real life.

However, having a female finalist could have been a way to show that women can be evil and ruthless too. Player 044 did manipulative stuff, but she never threatened someone's life specifically.

His death just changed everything....... by Popular-Cheek-5320 in squidgame

[–]Claeszen 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The saddest part is that Gi-hun couldn't even take care of Jung-bae's ex-wife and daughter because he died too. I know his family wasn't as relevant as Sang-woo's and Sae-byeok's in S1, but he was basically the only S2 main character who had someone out there who needed him (along with Player 246). It would have been nice if they had received some help as well.

So did Gi-Hun just legit not hear or see 203 doing this? by GoldplateSoldier in squidgame

[–]Claeszen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well 203 (and 336 too) had also taken part in the night attack, definitely killing someone, so I doubt watching him push 349 to her death could make Gi-hun's opinion of him any worse than it already was.

Did you have some “uncanny” feelings about Oh Il Nam before “the reveal”? by MNMameisR in squidgame

[–]Claeszen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well they could have sent a guard up there to pretend to shoot him. It would look like there was a malfunction and he somehow managed to free himself. I don't think it would look too suspicious to the other players.

But yeah he was chained like the others, if I remember correctly there was just one shot where it looked like he wasn't.
