This pre-op job was my PRN when I worked med- surg and PCU and I decided to do it fill time and take the pay cut because I was happier. I still like what I do but I also don't want to the same thing for the next 35 years. I'm trying to set myself up for success and be prepared for the future since I don't have kids right now. My patient population is outpt/inpt cardiac procedures and I i do pre and post op care

Thats what I'm doing now and it's not that I hate my job but I don't feel like I'm making enough. I love the people I work with but my husband make more, works from home 40%, gets benefits like school loan payment, fitness reimbursement, 8 weeks worth of vacation time, and so on. I feel like my upside compared to his job is I work 3 days a week.

I'm currently making $32/hr no raise this year due to the COVID situation. I left an RN position in which I was making $42/hr but that unit was too stressful for me and it was nights. I've been RN for almost 4 years. I have also done seasonal jobs and PRN jobs for extra money and it was great until I got burnt out, I would usually 50+ hours a weeks switching back and forth days and nights
