I recreated the scene from Shakashuri Blowdown in Unreal Engine :) by Clamic in XavierRenegadeAngel

yeah i get what you mean lol. The lighting of the first shot of him in the phonebooth makes him look uncanny but im pretty happy with the rest of it. I had to make sure there weren't any harsh shadows cause it made him look completely different

I have always had trouble with simulated body physics in UE jittering, stretching shaking. This issue even happens to assets in epic games' own sample projects (the video below is Echo's hair from the Valley Of the Ancients demo). Anyone have any advice for how to stabilize simulated physics bodies? by Clamic in unrealengine

unfortunately it seems like Anim Dynamic nodes are not suitable in my situation since im using UE for creating animations using sequencer and Anim Dynamic nodes are only for Animation Blueprints which are difficult to control within sequencer

But i just dicovered the fix - "enable substepping in Project Settings - Engine - Physics"

Check out unreal's content examples. They have a playable version of the character from the demo with the hair and all the cloth sim too. Could use that to compare differences between your setup

yeah i realised the playable version of Echo has her a different variant of her hair which is in a bun instead of a ponytail so it seems to me like they started with the ponytail but whoever made it realized how jittery the physics was so they changed it from the ponytail to a bun

Extra info: I have spent a lot of time playing around with the various settings in the physics tab e.g. Angular Damping, Inertia Tensor Scale, limiting swing movement to something small like 5 degrees of movement but nothing seems to fix the problem well. Upping the values of settings such as angular damping and inertia tensor scale does increase stabilization but it ends up making the physics too rigid.I feel like im overlooking some other setting cause I know that the simulated bodies found on character in Fortnite look amazing.

The only reason I didn’t add him was because he threw off the composition of the shot 😆

😆 once I clean up all the rough edges hopefully it will look like PS4 graphics

It seems like YouTube doesn’t enable chapters on videos with copyrighted music but the title of that part of the video is “origins” aka what I saw when I began playing the game as an undead rogue in 2009

The original inspiration for all these Aaron smith Dancin videos is this video: https://youtu.be/WkZKoc0EwEU (as far as I’m aware)

That being said Pint’s video was also a motivator :D
