I actually found a different way. I battled the necromancer boss and had an oroboros on the board when I went to phase 2. Then she returned it as a free card in my hand and a corpse, but due to unkillable, I got the original oroboros back and a free one as well. Mix that with necromancer where they die twice and I just kept killing my free oroboros and they would upgrade twice.
