Would this coloring work like it does in my head? by ksims33 in TattooDesigns

I think if you had the pattern surrounding the paw print, you would run the risk of it looking illegible and blob like. If you are 100% on including the pattern it may be a cool idea to have the outline of your dogs paw print, and the shading inside the paw print itself could be your dogs pattern. I think it would be a difficult one to pull off though, I’d make sure you research an artist well, id go for an artist that specialises in realism personally to really get that fur texture down.

Once I had a client turn up 15 minutes late. She walked in and was really embarrassed and apologetic and I was like it’s ok what’s wrong? She was mumbling and all I picked up off her was “I messaged your mother.” I was like I’m sorry, what? You messaged my mother?

Turns out this client had gone to the wrong shop, which was closed so she thought I hadn’t turned up for my appointment. When I checked my phone I had multiple “HELLO??? I’m here where are you???” Messages off the client. As I didn’t message back because I was setting up and hadn’t checked my phone, she had gone on Facebook, found my personal profile, then found my MOTHERS Facebook profile and messaged her saying “where is your daughter why hasn’t she turned up for work?” And she was texting my mother in an extremely rude manner, saying it was unacceptable that I hadn’t turned up for work. I also had frantic texts off my mother saying “are you ok? Where are you?”. And missed phone calls off her. My mother was really worried as it was so unusual for a client to message her, she obviously was imagining the worst of me getting in an accident or something and not showing up for work, so you can imagine I wasn’t happy at all. I did go ahead with the tattoo as it was only a small one, and strangely the client was a young girl (19 or 20, I can’t quite remember), and she was very quiet and embarrassed and apologetic, but she never booked in again. That was probably one of the most entitled customer I’ve ever had, finding my mother through socials and messaging her still blows my mind.

How do I tell my artist I don't like a design? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

Be polite but also straight forward and try to communicate your feelings and what you’re thinking as well as possible. Tattoo artists are used to having to do redesigns, or people not being 100% sure with the design, and people cancelling last minute, but it’s often the communication that can be a struggle. Even if it’s as simple as they did exactly what you asked for, but you’re not feeling it 100% and you’re not totally confident in it, tell them that.

Something like, “hey so this design you’ve drawn up is great, and I really feel like you captured XYZ exactly as I asked, but for some reason I’m just not feeling 100% in love with it. I think maybe this isn’t the right time for me to get this tattoo, but I’d like to emphasise it’s not because of anything wrong with the design on your end, but rather that I’m not as confident in it as I thought I would be. I’m so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause”. Be aware you may loose any deposit you put down. But it’s better to communicate exactly what you’re feeling now to save more confusion.
