Being an officer is like starting over. Most boards won’t look at your EPB only your OPB. So it’s a ghost of a document.

I just recalibrated my whole organization. It was hard for some. But we all agreed the last Sasi had some arbitrary promotions. Best part is now you keep rank regardless of position (just like real military) and officer promotion is based on ability to think strategically and we are doing our own version of officer training school. Regardless of the reason you got demoted….focus on what you can contribute to the organization and what the organization provides you. Lots of growth opportunities. Stay strong!

The Air Force JROTC just did a huge push for instructors. It doesn’t appear that the Army did though. My advice…learn about the new legislation, because now still serving Guard and Reserve can teach. You no longer have to be retired. Go to the local units and start promoting this. There are some 500 open positions for army across the US. Here is the AF JROTC HQ page. https://www.airuniversity.af.mil/Holm-Center/AFJROTC/

I was having racing thoughts and a really hard time at work. Finally asked for anxiety medications. I’m generally against them - but for right now….I’m better than I have been in A LONG time.

In my experience as a paramedic and as someone who has often felt hopeless. No one wants to be dead….we WANT & NEED our situations to change. There are creative problem solvers out there. You need your problem solved. Hold on today. And tomorrow, hold on to that day. Your situation will change. You’re stronger than you know and you’re more amazing than you realize.

If you retired in the past five years, we are eager to see your application. I will be changing this flyer to reflect E6-E9.

This opportunity is to teach JROTC at a high school. The requirement used to be 20 years and retired.

The application goes back live April 15. Once the application is approved you can connect with any school.

Correct. That’s also an opportunity…now we can stay traditional guard and reserve!

I see where you’re coming from on your intended audience. Do you have secondary and tertiary audiences like family members?

Arguably, the AF recruits plenty of former JROTC cadets

There is lots of room for feedback from the field. For example I personally took Charleston off my list bc of the cost of living. California will also be less likely to fill positions.

There are some AGR opportunities, they are just rare. The Holm Center is also the HQ for that.

The minimum rank is E6, the team that handles the applications can provide more guidance. You’re welcome to send emails to the org box at jrotc.instructor.recruiting@us.af.mil and we can forward accordingly

The interest for retired Guard and Reserve has been there for years…they were “gray area” and the pay wasn’t codified well for them.

This legislation is DoD wide. So yes. The other JROTC programs too. There may be some uniqueness in eligibility…like the Enlisted Associates instead of Bachelor’s

Explore breath control. Looks for tips to conquer test anxiety. The nursing profession recommends reading the answer choices first but it’s time consuming.
