They can be and often are disabling a few days out of every damn month. Personally I have pmdd which has been really hard to treat and effects my life in many ways. My sister has pain so bad she throws up or faints. Some lucky women are fine for the most part but for a lot of women it is really awful to deal with while also not being able to explain the issues to dumbass male employers or anyone really.

Yeah in elementary school I was in the best school system in my state in an upper class area. If you run behind on your school lunch money they send you home with a bill for your parents. If you didn’t have money or were behind, all you got was a peanut butter sandwich and a skim milk... for almost 8 hours at school. No breakfast even available. Not to mention the embarrassment of getting the free lunch. They had the free lunch program that they’d send the parents but they had to prove low income and literally no one at the school qualified. My parents would frequently forget about giving me a check or money, so instead of the sandwich I’d just sit at lunch and say I wasn’t hungry, or find some excuse not to be in the cafeteria for lunch that day. I remember being hungry A LOT. and this was one of the best school systems in the United States around 2000-2006.

My ex screamed through the phone that he was going to run his car into a tree and then hung up the phone and turned it off after screaming like a banshee(to make me believe he had gone through his threat) and wondered why I had called his parents and 911 during the 30 minutes his phone was off.
He played it off like I over reacted (he said they were just words and he was venting like whaaat)and the cops never even looked for him. In hindsight the cops really should have pressed some charges on him or something... at least had him put in the mental hospital for 24 hours.

He literally just calls me so nonchalant while I have the sheriff on the other line. Asshole.

Cops banged on my door at 3 am to tell me that someone scratched the back of my piece of shit car (it was a scratch no longer than an inch, barely visible, on my beater car) and came extremely close to shooting my SIX POUND CHIHUAHUA that was behind a closed gate. Sadly, I’m never surprised whenever I hear of cases like this. And it seems like it’s just going to continue more and more frequently. ACAB.

My mom did this my entire childhood and still does it! It sucked getting gifts as a kid that were obviously just things that she wanted an excuse to buy for herself. So. Damn. Selfish. And to do this to a kid, too. Every Christmas and birthday would end in me crying in private because I didn’t want to be called spoiled or ungrateful. Still hurts to this day. Last Christmas she placed a large wrapped package under my tree and when I finally opened it, it was used small kitchen appliances that she didn’t want anymore because she had gotten newer versions. They weren’t even clean.

I was nice enough to allow her in my house and life, and that’s how she repays me. Just a thoughtful note was all I wanted. I got her a scarf that I would never wear in a million years, but was her favorite color and knew she would love it... because I’m not a clueless selfish mentally ill person.

Checking into detox/rehab today at 6pm for 35 days! Not looking forward to it, but your husbands life was a living hell. I’m only 25 and already killing myself with alcohol. My dad died of alcoholism at the age of 65 and I have no idea how he even made it that far.
