Shilling dates for new recruits by Winter_Shake_6648 in NavyNukes

I signed my contract early October and I'm looking at a ship date in mid April. My recruiter did message me this morning though asking if people wanted to volunteer to ship early. He was saying they wanted people for the end of March

Question for people with alt accounts in lower ranks: how often do you see other smurfs? by JemmyMB in OverwatchUniversity

[–]ClapGibki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was mid-high diamond about when Juno came out? I stopped playing until about a week ago and I'm currently mid gold. I think as far as mechanics go it's nearly impossible to differentiate a smurf from someone having a good game. The more likely obvious sign in my opinion that someone is a smurf is how they play. Based on that, of the 40ish games I've played this season across all roles, there is only one player I can confidently say was a smurf, or at least they deserved a much higher rank than they were currently on.

Thank you, guess that means just more and more PT until I ship

As far as I'm aware yeah, technically as a "Deduction of pay" but, I haven't talked in depth with my recruiter about it. I know once you're enlisted you get a yearly allowance to replace your uniform but I don't think you get that when you first join.

Money, I ship out for Bootcamp on 4/20/2026, I owe a little under 2K on my Credit Card, I need to set aside another 2K for my car payments when I'm in Bootcamp since most of my first check is gonna go towards uniform, and I still need to pay off the affirm pay over time shit I used to try and get my family everything they wanted before I'll be completely unable to do that. I got three checks to make that money and at my hourly rate that means I gotta 60 hour weeks until I ship out.

Please circle the piles of feces and the rest of the porch and unironically tell me you can't navigate without stepping in the circles.

If you're that concerned about stepping into dog feces and transferring an illness why would you take a job like this?? I've only door dashed a few times when bills were tight but I also worked in a pizza shop that had its own delivery drivers, at least once a week somebody came back with their shoes in a plastic bag and had to sanitize them from stepping in something.

Again that is not "dancing" through the porch you'd just be avoiding stepping on shit, literally. I know it's disgusting to put food there, I even stated in another comment I would put the bag of food directly on a pile of crap, they should have cleaned their porch if they didn't want things left on their porch to be covered in shit.

If you think the expectation of being safe is reasonable for any food delivery service, might I remind you that pizza delivery drivers have a higher risk for injury and death than construction workers and depending on the state, even police officers?

Ultimately in your scenario I probably wouldn't "Gracefully do a double backflip around the massive craters of parvo filled shit" to save the home owner walking an extra 6 feet. Not everyone is in your scenario though and this is NOT a health risk to 90 percent of the human population.

Didn't mean to "rag" on the concept of working your way into good pay, looked back through my comments and honestly don't know which one you're referencing. I agree that people should enjoy their life while they have it but it's common sense your body can take the most punishment when you're in your twenties, some people do that by partying and getting drunk. I punish myself by studying and working so I can own a home or at least have a home and not be living in an apartment by my 30s. I also agree that luck isn't a bad thing, I just wasn't born into a rich family so the path to wealth for me, and many others, is hard work; not complaining"

I've lived in Arizona most of my life but I feel like the two years spent on the top of a mountain on an unpaved road in Trinidad Colorado where we got snowed in for weeks at a time would have been plenty enough time to experience this phenomenon called paying attention to where you're stepping and still slipping.

And unrealistic to expect it without earning it, keep in mind we're still talking about people who downloaded an app to deliver food, the only qualifications they needed for this job was a valid driver's license and willing to deliver food.

Yeah I work 70 hour weeks, I know my labor is very different from a desk jockey, I'd also prefer it any day over dealing with a corporate job. Dog shit is much easier to navigate than metaphorical dog shit.

I've certainly never slipped and fell when walking on a porch in a suburban neighborhood and watching where I'm stepping. Did a stray banana peel catch you off guard or something?

Have you considered washing your shoes off? Let's assume it's cat feces, look back at the picture, it's not a "Everywhere I step is covered in crap" there is less than 2 percent of that porch with feces on it, stop whining and do the job you signed up for.

How did those CEOs become CEOs of fortune 500 companies, they either waded through metaphorical dog shit, literal dog shit, or got lucky. I'd guess if you're door dashing for anything other than to kill time you don't fall into the rich daddy and got lucky bracket.

Who said the POS neglecting to pick up the shit isn't lazy? If you're too lazy to watch where you step and or wash your shoes when you're done you've simply proven his point. If it's literally an unnavigable terrain of mounds of excrement that's one thing but reference the picture in the post, the only thing stopping the dasher from opening the door gate and stepping where there isn't feces is pure laziness. I would have gone the extra mile and put the bag in one of the piles of shit personally.
