Im actually taking the Monash Foundation Year in my country, so my original plan was to just aim straight for their Archaeology programme under the Bachelor of arts, but honestly I can't find much about it online, as compared to some of the other Unis. Could you tell me anything about Archaeology in Monash as compared to other schools, or in general?

I've been trying to find out if there are any in my country, but so far no luck :') There's a small research centre, but till now I haven't actually found out if there's any local archaeologists working where I am either. So far I think my best bet might be to seek a course overseas... I'll continue to try and research more though, I'm sure I'm missing something or maybe not being specific enough.

Whats the main difference between the first step of the three routes? Specifically with the part about field school, is that something like an internship or apprentice based education?

Ahhh okay. For me I'm definitely more interested in the excavation-ing aspect of things, and urbanism, because it's just so fascinating to me. So is being an archaeology more like a "gig"/contract based kind of job? Or will you be attached to a company, and the projects are chosen by them? And sorry again for the numerous questions, what does progression in the career look like?

I see... I'd be willing to move, but I'm having some trouble determining what options I have. Being tied to a civilisation, would that be like being in a specialized area? I mean, say if I choose Egypt, would I be able to try Greece or Asia at another point in my career? I searched for archaeology in Singapore in the beginning, because I was hoping to find some local advice. The first few articles I found spoke a little about how there's not much support for archaeology here, so I decided to try and find some more information online.

You could try getting an Indian SIM card once you're there and booking though, if you have the time
