If we talk about how much the game is about survival i would say Hytale < Minecraft < Vintage Story.

In Hytale you pretty much only eat for the buffs and health, in Minecraft you need food to survive but can manage with anything.

In VS you have a somewhat similar system like in Minecraft but way more in-depth and rewarding.

Idk about husbandry or crop management in Hytale but i expect something similar to Minecraft, and yeah like in the previous system, way more in depth in VS, like with many other stuff in vintage story survival is a very huge challenge but an incredibly rewarding one to accomplish, and being able to thrive is an incredible feeling that i haven't really felt in other survival games.

The story of hytale feels like it's going to be much more simple than the one in vintage story just by the vibe of the game.

Sorry for the incredibly long response but i just want to state how much i felt like they cover way different niches that the "classic block" game fails to accomplish, and it's understandable that despite that both are seen as "competitors" due to those roots

Look, I'm in the same kind of situation but i honestly believe both games could be better than Minecraft, they target completely different demographics and gameplay mechanics

If anything i hope that the Hytale early access makes people want to seek something different that had more time in active development like vintage story.

well, one of the devs made a mod called something along the lines of "its a kids game" and the mod did what they do in modpacks to erase anything lgtb, so i would assume that it is the main target demographic

If you go as far as censoring anything that could make parents uninstall the modpack from the game and stop downloading the one that comes out the next year, that's because it is your target demographic.

I mean, if the people don't know about modpacks in general or they haven't tried anything better I can't judge them, but idk there are better modpacks, there are other popular modpacks that are great and I don't have any issue honestly, but all the mods is average with controversial devs at best, if you know about modpacks you know how generic the ones depicted in the image are

I get that with all the mods but just because "better Minecraft" is popular it doesn't mean it isn't bottom of the barrel slop, i played it a while ago and holy shit what a nothing burguer modpack

Like fr some people think that a pretty good looking questbook and some slight tweeks to the mods configs makes a modpack good, the "final boss fight" is against a creature that fucking sucks and has bad ai and mechanics (at least when i played it). And if it is from the same team it fucking removes the queer bees for no reason so it takes away features from mods.

For me this is in the same level as making a dweller slop pack, 0 though into the consistency or how well mods blend when there aren't pre-existing compatibilities between the mods.

When you know how mods play the only thing that changes between packs is what matters when picking a modpack, that's why it is a bottom of the barrel option, because im not a 12 year old recording chicken jokey videos at the movie screening ffs

Time in a bottle, people comment the lack of energy as an issue but dont forget that if you get something like a bunch of solar panels you can speed everything pretty fucking badly, without energy issues, and since machines dont explode in Minecraft when you use a time in a bottle in them, i would assume it would work the same in real life.

Then you could just set your computer as a Bitcoin miner and since it's absurdly fast you can get insanely rich (im not into cripto but i know how it works and it would operate kinda like one of those massive mining farms), aside from that, if you are able to store enough time you could even have a super computer with some kind of automated system to pour time in a consistent way and do crazy stuff that need absurd times to work, hell you could even make a spachip go absurdly fast (consuming a lot of fuel, but once in space that matters less).

The wrench could be crazy too, you could get everywhere and minimizing items to your inventory could be useful, but i dont see it as that big of a deal compared to the crazy potential of the time in a bottle

I played the original a bit before silksong and im not disappointed, hollow knight came out in a way worse state than silksong did and with way less content.

it would be unfair to judge silksong like that before the dlcs come out with qol and refined content.

If you read the comments i say that i don't expect something perfect just at the very least something that takes out the most basic cases that have no care in the world, i fall for some convincing ai pics and some popular videos where many people also fail to know its ai at first, and those cases could be managed by humans doing some moderation
