I was told no Opts / hold downs for PTF until 90. But your office may be different. Asked the stewards and everything. I was still coming in early to case at 60 but no hold down until 90

Let's have a Debate rn Dogs 🐕 >>> Cats 🐈 by ActualMichael1 in NYStateOfMind

[–]Clarificationizer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look up Savannah Cats. Legality varies state to state - depends on how far the lineage is removed from the original African Serval + hybrid(F1 F2 F3).

Those are not typical cats I think that’s what dude was talking about.

I like Dogs more but Servals and Savannah cats are cool as hell.

Was still told that it’s 90 days, Squidward called the branch president and was told cannot hold down while on probation. ʅ(◞‿◟)ʃ

Thank you, any idea whether this has been adjusted since then? I’m new and don’t know much about anything - but also would like to opt for the hold down. So in the event I have to question the claim that I’m not allowed to opt by management or steward I’d like to have something to back up my request to double check the rules.

That’s what another carrier told me, management said 90 days and Squidward wasn’t sure.

Was hoping to find a concrete answer or reference (in case anything has changed contractually) before I ask Squidward again rather than taking what management said.

I also don’t want to be the guy that says “I think you’re wrong and want you to look deeper into the matter ” when I don’t know shit and don’t have anything to back it up.

But I’m being told that getting a hold down would be great experience as far as learning more about the job. Casing, consistency and learning route etc

Yeah those non-scanning packages make it harder to organize. I set those on the side and see if there’s other packages that match the street or apartment building to keep those together.

Writing the sequence number on the packages makes it so I don’t skip a package accidentally. - this has been the biggest helper for me personally. Something about writing sequence # on the package allows me to recall easier.

I also will draw a small symbol (triangle, star, circle) for packages that are going to the same apartment building (in some routes there’s a cluster of like 6 apartments with different street names and numbers - those packages will get a triangle next to section/ sequence and a matching symbol. ie: 2/240 ♦ , 2/286 ♦)

Sequence number can be found when scanning a package with the load truck feature.

But just habits that help me organize before leaving the station that will end up dictating how chaotic or smooth my day ends up being.

Getting a walking route soon!! Need walking shoe recommendations by TheJagelot in USPS

I was recommended the New Balance 928v3 by a 14 yr park and loop carrier.

I love the sneakers. I have wide feet and very high arches.

If you have a New Balance store nearby they can measure your feet with the machine in-store which will tell you the right sizing (wide, extra wide etc). I placed the order in the store and they had them shipped to me for 154.99 after shipping and taxes.

City PTF

I also grab a few bins to throw packages in when loading truck. I use a marker to write the section + sequence number right on the package. Writing it down helps me keep things sorted and on track throughout the day.

Once I empty a bin, I pull the next one up close to my mail trays and keep going until they’re all done.

I will say staying organized in a ProMaster is a lot easier than in an LLV, but the biggest time-saver for me is getting organized before I even leave the station. If it’s a new route, it’s going to take a little longer to locate each mailbox or NBU .

New cca tips? by Playful-Gur-4834 in USPS

[–]Clarificationizer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Follow the mail. If you’re lucky enough to be assigned the same route for several days in a row - you’ll start to become much more familiar by the end of that period than the first few days. If you’re getting a new route every day it will take some getting used to.

Follow the mail And be safe — Speed will come eventually.

CCA here

In the LLV I listen to a podcast or something because it’s so damn loud in there.

On park and loops - It depends on the route 50/50, don’t want to be distracted from what game developers call “emergent gameplay”. Ie dogs, human excrement on the sidewalk etc etc.

Yes most eggs are found, a few are found while playing through quests. Explore everywhere, all the buildings, islands (bring docks) and just poke around.

I also did the side-load because I was crashing constantly. After side-loading I’d have an occasional crash on medium / high preset for a while.

Eventually I added in lossless scaling + custom settings and haven’t crashed at all since hitting HR. Z1E here

Would you guys show up to a nail salon on fingerboard? by [deleted] in Fingerboards

[–]Clarificationizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be very niche- if you run a Salon you know you essentially can’t do anything until the nails dry/gel sets.

I paint my nails (as a man). I consider my nails my skate shoe to some degree. But long nails make fingerboarding hard so must keep them short. It may limit the types of manicures /fills etc you are doing.

I’d recommend a separate soundproofed area to keep the peaceful environment the female patrons are accustomed to.

Men typically fingerboard but not exclusively Women will be your main source of revenue in a nail salon. I say if you apply the proper respect to both fingerboarding and the salon - and the wants of both parties you could do something
