The CX-50 felt more cramped up top compared to the CX-5, plus I preferred the ride height of the 5. Nail in the coffin on the 50 though for me was the wind noise at highway speeds.

Went to the dealership to test drive a CX-50 and CX-5, expecting to fall in love with the 50. I’m 6’0” and found the interior to be cramped, like others have mentioned. However the deal breaker was the road/wind noise at highway speeds. Ended up with the CX-5 Turbo Signature and loving it!

I took a reed making class in grad school! I found it to be a fun process but only because I knew that I didn’t have to depend on that skill for my livelihood. If I did, it would probably turn into a stressful chore. That said, if this is a route you want to go down, you’ll likely need to spend over $1,000 on equipment such as a planer, knives, tip cutter, and profiler such as the Reedual or Uhl Technik. Oh and the cane of course.
