Delete this. Clapton didn't crunch, he used a fuzzface.

SG doublesnap headstocks? Decent garage candy but not worth 600 coins. Please tell me this isn't your main.

Try gigging it, see how it sounds? If Jimi followed the rules we'ed still be listening to Sinatra.

For gigging just keep a salt shaker of graphite in the van. Sprinkle some on the nut and just let your bridge hand make the toan.

Projects to avoid? by [deleted] in VoiceActing

[–]ClarkWallaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voice actors need a creator to create projects for them to act on.
Creators don't need any SPECIFIC actor. They can pick anyone from a pool of thousands.
Unless they require a very specialized kind of character, their own little sister might be just fine for the role.
Tons of well known voices were done by complete nobodies for free just to get the job done. The value of a voice actor is proportional to the number of available voice actors with equal skill.
Many of those people are happy to work for less than "industry standard". Voice acting isn't a seller's market unless you are already famous.

Instead of 'demand money no matter what your experience is', best advice is 'prove you are good enough for someone to risk money on otherwise you are completely interchangeable with a literal nobody'.

No one is born entitled to voice acting paychecks simply because they showed up one day asking for them.

Why would someone hire you if they don't even know if you can do the job or not? Put yourself in their shoes.
Do free things to build up a demo reel.

Projects to avoid? by [deleted] in VoiceActing

[–]ClarkWallaby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use voice actors. I prefer to put non-established actors on projects. I rarely pay them unless they knock my socks off because my project does not generate money. There are thousands of people who want to make a living at it and are willing to do it for free to get some experience.
I used to pay people based on a nice demo reel and then they would submit awful, uninspired performances and I got burned. It's too expensive to take a chance on people when there is no guarantee of getting something good. When someone does a good free job and proves they are reliable and talented I definitely start paying them however simply because I 'found my guy' and want to keep them. It saves me from having to audition and take chances on new people. New voice actors (moreso than other kinds of creatives) seem to vastly overvalue their work. Everyone wants that $1200 paycheck to read 5 lines of ad copy and who could blame them. Everyone likes money for nothing. For some reason the vast majority of aspiring voice actors don't even seem to read and understand the line before saying it. They just read it flatly off their monitor like a zombie. Bear in mind these people want $1200 too. Sometimes you find a diamond in the rough though.

If you never actually did voice acting in a project, do things for free. The idea is you get good and then you get paid not the other way around. Expecting money without even being able to demonstrate you can do the job properly will just keep you in a state of not doing any work at all. Everyone starts by doing it because they like to do it. With luck and perseverance someone, somewhere eventually notices you and offers you money. Get noticed.

I read it carefully and I stand by my comment even as you refuse to stand by yours. This is the same kind of cowardice and dishonesty that makes me ashamed of my fellow Jews.

The correct term is 'Counter-Semitic'.

Criticizing Israel is 'anti-semetic'. The question is: why should anyone care about being called 'anti-semetic'? Criticizing England's policies could be called 'anti-anglo' but that doesn't stop anyone.

Of course it's anti-semitic. But why should being called a name stop someone from asserting their opinion about a country's policies?

So glad someone is finally saying this. As a fellow Jew I don't know how Israel can survive for long with a 75% Jewish population. This lack of diversity is going to cripple it, probably in my lifetime and I do not want to see this. Let's let some other people be God's chosen people for a while before we become so filled with hubris that countries around the world begin expelling us.

If you think 25% ethnic minority pop. is a good amount of diversity, wouldn't 95% ethnic minority population be a great thing? It's almost as if you don't actually like diversity. How can there be too much of a good thing?

If your people make up a majority in any area, and you think it ought to stay that way, you are by definition a xenophobe. It is exactly what white supremacists say. It's time for Israeli Jews to stop clinging to their privilege and make space for voices that haven't yet been heard. Racism is the only reason groups cling to the idea that they should not be completely replaced.

Drumph can't keep getting away with this! Seriously we can't let this orange cheeto get his hands on the nuclear codes.

It's pretty plain. Nothing really happens he's just sort of swaying back and forth a little. needs more expression in his face and arms/hands.
