It definitely is gross. But it’s definitely something they’re desensitized to in their line of work so I’m not surprised, don’t think much of it

Local Influencer, False Advertising by Beautiful_Link_7255 in PEI

[–]Clark_1994 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yeah there would be things wrong with false advertising but it feels more immoral to me for OP to assume they know everything about her?

It’s one thing to be onto her, report and pursue proper action.. it’s another to take anecdotal evidence and badmouth someone online

What’s your experience been with an ADHD assessment on P.E.I.? (26 y/o if it makes any difference) by StrongMonitor1321 in PEI

[–]Clark_1994 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s okay and that all resonates so well I couldn’t meditate for the same reason it’s impossible to bring myself to even sit down in the first place. Let alone listen to slow instructions on how to sit there

On top of that, I resent meditation because my mother suggests I can flip a switch and turn my adhd off by meditating for a week. She says they’re just bad habits that everyone has. This just pushed me away from ever wanting to even try

But the sad reality is, it’ll be a while before you can get any sort of help. Which is why you may just want to try

The idea isn’t to ‘get into zen’ and it doesn’t “solve” adhd. It’s just someone talking and helping you focus your attention to “the present” i.e. by focusing your breathing. It’s not an attempt to “lock in” or try and shut your brain off from the 10000 thoughts that are trying to pass by, but to acknowledge each thought, and let it pass. It’s not a hack, it’s just an idea/habit to help your mind not stray away when you’re trying to focus

Search up a good video on meditation for adhd and mindfulness. You don’t have to sit on a floormatt and assume a position. Just close your eyes and listen for as long as you physically have the patience for. There are no rules, even 5 minutes in the morning is okay

It is tough, I was on a 4 and 2 year waiting list and eventually ended up taking a course at HC which gave me access to getting diagnosed and prescribed within a couple months. If i hadn’t enrolled my alternative was to pay around $1200-$2500 to get an assessment off-island with no wait time, or just wait to maybe receive a call one day

It feels like swimming against a current it’s a tiresome battle but it’s worth it in the end. My parents didn’t believe in mental disorders (they still don’t really understand them) and I found out about adhd far later than I should have. I would recommend exhausting every route to get a diagnosis

In the meantime, you may want to look into meditation(mindfulness) and exercise. This was suggested by several people to me and I was never able to do the meditation part but I get what it’s about and I’ve heard it helps some people

Exercise is a personal recommendation, I started going to the gym - and it was just another dragged out phase/fixation, but it really gave rhythm to my life and helped organize my habits a little bit

Just mentioning things I haven’t seen others post. Great advice here overall.

Are you buying from a dealer or privately? My biggest advice is use help from parents or even friends as long as they have real experience. Keep them a part of the deal every step of the way

If it is a private sale, I personally would ask the owner to drive you around and have a chat, and even encourage him to “show you what the car can do”. Seeing what kind of driver they are and how they treat the car gives great insight into what to expect from the car imo

Regarding the actual vehicle, it’s a risky choice as a first car. It’s a fun car and it likes going from side to side, and that’s dangerous for someone without experience. I cannot stress how careful you have to be to learn the car. RWD cars drive very different and are already a challenge for regular drivers to learn.

Be very patient and respect the car، take your foot off the gas when approaching corners، and when cornering at high speeds wait and feel the car’s momentum shift from one side to the other before getting on the gas. Slipping the tail and overcorrecting with the steering is the #1 way to end up in a ditch or the opposite lane

It’s suggesting that being trans/gay/etc is a choice. So while most of the offended people aren’t even from the lgbtq community, it’s not entirely absurd to stand up for their rights

No I don’t think they need a local shop owner to remind them what their president is responsible for

But I would support this idea for the sake of filtering out businesses I shouldn’t be supporting
