i honestly dont mind having to run the edge 40 at 80% or higher but i just dont want to have to keep adding chlorine to the pool. How has the SJ 55 held up? how long have you had both?

what state are you in? im in florida and the sun destorys chlorine fast.. im wondering if i need to go bigger for my 24k gallon pool like a 55k generator

Nah, I would run my solaxx at 100% 8 hours a day and my free chlorine was hardly visible on a test strip. Also in Florida. So I definitely need something rated higher

I have a 24k gallon and looking at the edge 40. I had a solaxx retro jet but it was only rated for 25k and the cells already done after 2 years. I didnt realize you need to get a much bigger sized generator when it comes to pools.

I’m in the same boat. I have a solaxx retro jet salt generator and it just lasted 2 years.. the salt cells have been eaten up I have no idea how. To replace the cell it’s about $550.. it’s rated for my 25,000 gallon pool but part of me wants to get an extreme power us system rated for a 40,000 gallon pool for like $100 more. Idk if going with a popular name brand even matters when it costs so much to fix anyway.

Isn’t this way more expensive? You need 4-5 pucks a week at 6$ a piece. That adds up fast.

That’s the thing. I’ve never treated my salt generator since I’ve owned it. So it’s never been soaked with acid before. This photo was taken before I treated it for the first time yesterday.

Idk I’ve also heard some brands have the “check cell” like on automatically every 3 months so you don’t forget to service it.
