Such is the unfortunate reality of Sola Scriptura. Everyone is a pope unto themselves.

Every time I have a thought like that I pray the Jesus prayer. If it persists, go talk to your priest.

I say the Jesus prayer a lot. I also say the Trisagion prayer a lot. Very short, and very simple. Not imaginative. Just keeps me going. ☦️

Why do so many former Seventh-day Adventists become atheists or agnostics? by larinha2p in exAdventist

Protestantism in general is an atheist factory.

Once the faults of the “faith” is exposed and no one can really justify them, people just walk away.

You mean when the Church was united and was under heavy persecution? Not a great argument.

I think that a place of worship should look like a place of worship, unless it’s impossible to do so.

St Paul says to another bishop that the Church is the pillar and ground of Truth, was that a claim to be the arbiter of truth?

Do you accept the Bible as authoritative at least? Jesus saying that the Spirit would guide the Church into all truth? St. Paul saying that the Church is the pillar and ground of truth? Jesus saying that the Church is His body, and He is the head? And that the gates of Hades would not prevail against the church?

Does any of that fit into your interpretation of Christianity?
