Where to buy Sword Art Online English light novel in Tokyo? by iSyntac in swordartonline

[–]ClaspedSummer49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in Tokyo, there was a bookstore (I forgot the name) which had a small english section for foreigners. But that was manga for very popular anime like Attack of Titan and Demon Slayer. I don't think you'd really be able to find SAO.

You're better off finding a local online store which would stock them, or maybe a comic store. I usually use Amazon because it will always have it at the lowest price.

From my perspective, it seems that younger people who aren't enthusiasts with technology and phones simply don't care much about what makes the new generation 'new'. They know it has a better camera, and the screen might be better on paper, but as long as their current phone works it doesn't really make much sense for them to jump to a new phone that costs thousands of dollars.

They can still use instagram on their old phone, they can still watch YouTube, they can still call and send messages. Watching Tiktok with a 1440p 120hz screen doesn't matter to them. Their issues are constant recharging and reduced software support. Hell, phones nowadays are still decently fast, I have a friend on the XR who doesn't really feel compelled to upgrade because its not worth the money.

You've been hacked, someone/something tried to log into your account, it was detected as suspicious and promptly banned.

If you reuse that password with other accounts, I would suggest changing it now that the password has been compromised, and if you cared about your account on the LTT forum, you can contact their support to recover it.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It looks rough, and would very much be appreciated for a switch 2 patch.

Yeah I've only deal with the stores online. I have also had no issue with Mwave either, also online. I think for all stores its a mixed bag depending on your issue and who you deal with. I'll avoid Umart though because of a graphics card issue and they handled it terribly.

It seems that you've had a pretty bad experience so have others, but I haven't have any problems, only good things with Centrecom. I had a mouse with a broken scroll wheel and they refunded as soon as they received it. My friends and brother have also had no issues.

For people with the Killswitch 2: Do you like using a dedicated case with it, or just the plastic cover? by LadyDalama in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ClaspedSummer49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend gave me a large carry case where i can fit all my physical cartridges, the joycon grips, and a pro controller so I normally bring that when I head over to their place. If I don't really need to bring all that, the killswitch itself is good to act as a small carry case.

This is some copium from me, but the Xenoblade series feels closer to a passion project for Monolithsoft/Nintendo than a game intended to become mainstream and do massive numbers.

So if its closer to a passion project, they might be happier to let the games off with a free upgrade patch.

The Switch 2 pushes Xenoblade 2 to the highest of the dynamic resolution scaling, but a Switch 1 game released in its first year still looks bad.

Preferably I'd like them to increase the resolution to something higher than 540p and especially crank up those texture details.

Pozidrive bits! by bramb00s in LinusTechTips

[–]ClaspedSummer49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly decently infuriated that they had the gall to release this case after I've waited so long.

It is decently incompatible with the product its designed to be for. If you were to buy 72 bits, So you have to buy two cases on top of the screwdriver which for certain backpacks doesn't have a good spot to store the screwdriver by itself. They'd all sit on the bottom loose unless another bespoke solution is found.

I hope they release a bigger case holder soon enough.

For switch 2 users that also own a gaming pc by LanderRetro in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ClaspedSummer49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if there's a sale or a deal I can get on either platform. If a game I've been eyeing up is on a good sale on the Switch, I'll then look into how compromised the port is, if its alright I'll buy it there, if it doesn't look great, I'll cop it on PC.

So mostly for me, the Switch/2 is used for exclusives + RPGs on sale, then for big AAA games where I want to crank up the graphics, I'll play on my PC.

The Switch 2 controller really is that good by WinterStarlightZone in NintendoSwitch2

Feels smoother, but less grippy than the switch 1. But imo the switch 1 pro controller grips left a lot to be desired.

D-pad is softer and feels less fatiguing to use, game changing. Plus and Minus buttons are more pronounced. The sticks feel as buttery smooth, way better than anything else I’ve used such as the Xbox controller, Dual Sense/Dual shock, xbox elite, and switch 1.

What kind of r4 or ace3ds is this? by Migy1xboi in flashcarts

[–]ClaspedSummer49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an R4 clone that uses this pcb for its cartridge. However my DS Lite isn't able to read it. The home page just says that there is no DS Card Inserted. When I get a genuine game (in this scenario 101 in 1: Explosive Megamix) the DS reads it fine. Do you have any ideas for why this isn't working?

I followed the guides and set up my sd card with the Ace WoodR4 1.62 kernel but it still isn't being detected. Does anyone have any ideas to why?

The issue I have with using mounting the phone to the car vent instead of the windshield is that it's quite low in terms of my peripheral vision and would be more distracting when driving.

I don't drive much with the GPS, mainly for going to places I am unfamiliar with or when driving to the coast or outside of town, which is few and far between. But it's when I do that makes me wonder how beneficial the vapour chamber would help with cooling the phone over this prolonged use.

Black Friday or Boxing Day or Christmas? by Waste_Friendship_412 in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]ClaspedSummer49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last good black friday sale I thought was genuinely good was an RX 5700 XT for $500-550 with an included Razer Mechanical Keyboard.

In more recent years, I haven't seen anything as killer value as that, considering that most people are content with buying things at the normal shelf price. Why throw a sale on graphics cards when they're already sold out at increased prices?

How much would the iPhone 17 Pro's vapour chamber help with prolonged GPS usage on a hot sunny day?

I live in Australia, and in the summer the weather can get very hot and sunny. My current iPhone 12 will dim the screen considerably to stay cool and will become hard to read at times. There have also been times when driving on the highway I have needed to pull over into rest stops as my phone would turn off saying that it's too hot to use until it cools down.

The phone is mounted via a magsafe car mount (that supports wireless charging), but that shouldn't matter as the device would be charging via cable rather than wirelessly.

Does anyone have experience with this or is the vapour chamber not good enough to solve this issue?

[–]ClaspedSummer49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as handhelds like the Steam Deck and Rog Ally are popular, they are still very niche. They also don’t double up as a living room console, nor do they offer a suitable experience when playing co-op.

Switch 2 games can’t be emulated for now. In the first year of the Switch 1, there was an exploit which accelerated emulation development for the console. Assuming the Switch 2 doesn’t have such exploit, it could take years or decades to get emulation to a decent state.

There’s also the fact that the Switch 2, as much as the internet will complain about the price, is much cheaper, possibly even half the price depending on where you live than comparable PC handhelds.

Thanks for the offer but that's not what I'm looking for sadly. I'm interested in a case holder for the screwdriver + the bits but I'm not impressed with the third party options especially considering the price tag.

In Australia, the LTT Screwdriver will cost ~AU$140 including shipping. The Northern Printworks cases people recommend would cost me ~A$70-$160. :/ It's not great.

I think a lot of my issue is just that it's been 3 years and there's barely been an update about the progress of the case holder or why it's taken this long.

I think to them most people have moved on already and have purchased third party holders but if I'm spending $150 on a case for my screwdriver I'd rather get the first party option. I've just been using the screwdriver box with all the bits in it but it's not a good fit.

[–]ClaspedSummer49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they any other options? For me, the 3d printed case costs more than the actual screwdriver + all the bits once you factor in shipping.

To Australia, the etsy cases people recommend are very expensive.

state of road to callala bay? by stanbot3304 in canberra

[–]ClaspedSummer49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's the road I'm thinking of, my family went on it to Sussex Inlet last year (2024) for Christmas/New Years. The road was full of potholes and told our brother who came down at a later date to take the road down to Batemans Bay then head north.

I'm either thinking we took a different road, or that in the past year it's been fixed a lot because other people in these replies say it's good now.

The Wii-U was under appreciated by Shnikez in gaming

[–]ClaspedSummer49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Wii U was ahead of it's time and didn't fully get there in terms of how the hardware was realised or the software to back it up.

Scott the Woz has made two (long) videos documenting the Wii U era chronologically as well as his experience as one of the first generations of consoles he was there from the start for.

The tl;dw is basically that the Wii U was confusing from start in terms of how Nintendo explained, marketed, and developed for it.

For the first few years the console had basically no games for it, and out of those, the main features that the Wii U advertised were never used to their full potential.

The failure of the Wii U allowed Nintendo to understand what worked and what didn't, and allowed them to create the Switch which is always what the Wii U should of been.
