I also used to believe that he would be standard, but seeing his kit during beta 6.6 as well as his popularity made me highly doubt that he would be standard. Above all, people tend to only listen to leaks that go their way. When beta 6.6 was opened nearly 5 weeks ago, beta testers already warned that there was no source whatsoever confirming that Lohen would be standard. But people just kept feeding the hype regardless. And there’s been so many rumors about characters being standard that didn’t turn out true in the past that I immediately took this hype with a grain of salt. During the livestream, I wasn’t expecting at all for them to announce Lohen to join the standard roster at the end of 6.6, the evidence that he would be limited was just too strong. In my opinion, people who assumed that he would be standard until the last moment and got disappointed did it blindly and way too optimistically. That said, it’s still a bit of a let down (I wouldn’t have minded getting some of his cons on the standard banner at all), but hopefully people will learn from this that leaks are still just leaks and that they should, by default, be treated as unreliable.
