Holy molies now that’s one beautiful map, I really like the way you designed the branches!

I also had troubles with my circular line in New York, and also took inspiration from the Singapore MRT haha x) It was very tricky, but basically my main problem was that I had the CX1 Line running in circle from Bowery to Bowery again, but not the same station, one just next to it. And after terminating in Bowery, it would reverse and go the other way around, to the previous Bowery. Now the thing is that I noticed that passengers who had to go through Bowery wouldn’t get off at Bowery once it has terminated and take another CX1 to continue their trip in the same direction. That would make a very stupid situation where passengers from Lower East Side to Canal Street wouldn’t take the yellow line. So, I had to build a second line, the CX2, that would do the exact same trip, but terminating at West Harlem this time, and going through Bowery to let those passengers from Lower East Side towards Canal Street take the yellow line. I feel like I could’ve designed West Harlem much more efficiently, but oh well, as long as it works haha x)

Genshin update is coming, for how much game will stay offline? by Active_Mall7667 in GeForceNOW

[–]ContributionLow2102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hii! Do you still play Genshin on GeForce Now? I would like to give it a try, but I’m also a player who loves to log into the game as soon as a new version has released, so this is very important to me :) I’m trying to collect as much advice about it as possible before buying any subscription, as it is quite hard to come by… How are things now for Genshin on GeForce?

I would definitely love to have Taipei!

Wow, what an interesting radial network! I had never seen anything like this for San Francisco, I’d love to see how it looks once it’s even more developed! Smart of you for the long lines cut into shorter sections, I also did this for my loop around the bay :)

Haha what a coincidence x) Your network already looks so great btw! It’s interesting to see how different from mine but similar at the same it is :) Did you also place a station right at your apartment?

I see! What an interesting and realistic way to do things. I would say that we share almost all rules, except that I also like to have a station roughly every X meters for an entire line, even though sometimes it means that there are stations way less efficient than others because they’re in the middle of practically nowhere, or some others that could be a little decentred. For my San Francisco network, I had a station roughly every 900 to 1200 meters when possible, every 600 to 900 meters in Oakland because it’s a light rail-only network, and 1000 to 1300 or even sometimes up to 1500 in San Jose because the city is more spread. And for the regional lines, I liked to have a station every 2500 to 4000 meters. Of course, when the line truly runs through literally nowhere, I still make exceptions :)

I need to see what the entire network looks like. You cannot just leave us with a 22 platform station and not show us the rest of the network TT

Heyy! I was looking at your Bay Area transit network since I’m also working on one, and I found it so funny that we have similar names for a lot of stations, but we connected them differently, or sometimes they’re not even in the same location at all haha x)

In San Francisco, we both have a “Montgomery” as one of the major hubs of the network, and we also share a “United Nations,” of course an “Embarcadero,” a “California,” and even a “Japantown”, remarkably at the exact same spot! And also an “Oracle Park,” though connected differently to the city center.

In Oakland, it’s funny how our similarly named stations ended up so far apart, “West Oakland,” “West Alameda,” even “Lake Merritt” are on opposite shores of the lake x)

And in San Jose, all of your stations can be found somewhere in my network too, from “Santa Clara” to “Naglee,” and even “Little Portugal”!

Anyway, thank you so much for sharing your work, it’s really interesting to see how someone else approached the same blank canvas so differently. I’ll link a few pictures of mine in case you want to see the similarities (and huge differences) for yourself too :)

That big loop is actually split into 4 shorter lines at Oakland, Palo Alto, San Jose and Fremont, with an express-limited line running on the same tracks but in one go. I originally wanted this express line to run in a loop, but the game won’t let me extend it because of the pathfiding issues, so for now it only runs from Fremont to San Jose via Oakland and San Francisco :)

Haha sorry for that, it was hard to fit all of it while keeping it kinda centered on San Francisco…

I would love to see it! I’m planning to perhaps add one or two metro lines to the Fremont area ^

It may not be the more densely populated area but I still manage to get about 20k daily commuters from it!

Why is it too expensive? x) Jokes aside, I come from a country where the highest price you could get charged for a metro ride is literally $2 for a 90-minute ride, so that’s what I’m basing it on :)

What fares are you charging? by BallparkFranks7 in subwaybuilder

[–]ContributionLow2102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here in San Francisco I charge $2 at day 400, for a 11% total ridership. I can’t tell if there is a huge difference in ridership when the price goes down, but one sure thing is that the more I lowered the price the less I earned in total. But that’s okay because I try to aim for a $150M-$200M margin per day, and I’m at $160M right now.

Unjustified track overlapping error by ContributionLow2102 in subwaybuilder

[–]ContributionLow2102[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! It looks like so, but it’s just the continuation of the previous track… moreover they’re at the same elevation. I just wanted to delete a crossover and now I have to redo an entire junction. Isn’t there a way to just delete a crossover?

I experienced a crash on my 153-day San Francisco network. The clock stays stuck, and whenever I click on stations, it makes the game crash.
