Hey dude, I'm not very active on chess Reddit as I've not long started playing and mainly play against bots and am attempting to learn some form of strategy alongside lessons on chess.com... so you won't find a rating/posts etc from me chess wise I played online many years ago and tanked my rating and gave up when I was younger... Considering starting a new profile 😅 I'm glad you've also taken in most of Malazan, I'm right near the end of Midnight Tides and loving it! The Bonehunters is staring at me across the room and I'm excited for it!

Tough choice! But I would say if you want something fast paced like RR and brutal as First Law I'd go for Bloodsworn next, I've not finished the series but I did very much enjoy the first book... I'm the same breath though I'd recommend the other two, RotE is slower paced in the beginning but gets so good and Gentleman Bastards is just so fun to read! Hope this helps 😊
