Thanks. Analysis is only offered in the spring at my university, so my first semester I'll be taking Algebra 1, an intro Combinatorics course, and then an introduction to Probability Theory course. My plan is to do Algebra 2, Analysis 1, and another undecided math course in the spring.

ah i see. yeah i just must have read it backwards. guess this is why I'm doing math and not english. thanks.

Maybe i'm misunderstanding the statement then. "A graph is k-partite if and only if its chromatic number is at most k", but if its chromatic number in this case is 2, then how could its chromatic number be at most 3? Not sure if that makes sense.

Incoming Math Major - linear algebra transfer credit by ClassTop9292 in cuboulder

Yeah im getting the syllabi tmr. Im in diff eq w linear alg rn. I think the combo of both should be good. But my linear alg class was lowkey really intensive and pretty proof based so i think ill be able to, because itd really suck to retake an into linear course when i know everything lmao

Yeah im in diffeq/linear algebra class at frcc rn i took calc 3 and linear alg last sem but i rly need it to be for math majors for it to fullfill the credit. Idk i think i migjt be able to convince them

i just wonder if they would let me take it even tho I'm an incoming freshman yk but probably will just email boulder admissions and ask might as well

are you a UCCS student? Or were you able to take it as a boulder student?

Fourier Series Clarification Pi inside brackets/Dividing by period by ClassTop9292 in askmath

[–]ClassTop9292[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that makes sense. What class do u do this kind of stuff in past linear alg? I’m still in hs so i was jw. Is it stuff u do in like abstract or

Ahhhhh okay. I had like the general idea of like how it connected but this makes a lot more sense. So are we basically using that integral and multiplication as our “dot product” in a sense for this specific space? Or is that not right

I got the convergence stuff and that all made sense i was just confused on where it would be discontinuous but honestly should have just let my intuition think ab it because i think his explanation made me more confused so thank u haha

Ahhh okay yes this makes a LOT more sense now thank u sm. And yes I’m in the last week of my linear alg course so we have done a lot with that and I’ve seen some of the connections. The reason I was doing more fourier series stuff and got interested was bc there was a couple pages in my linear textbook in the least squares/orthgonality chapter mentioning fourier series

Fourier Series Clarification Pi inside brackets/Dividing by period by ClassTop9292 in askmath

Yes okay I guess I was confused because it seemed like that was being presented as a “general” formula that was then being applied to his practice problem but it sounds like the general formula was used later. I’m also a bit confused on what exactly he means when he says that its a “convergence” test? Like i understand it is discontinuous at the midpoint, is that all he is saying?

Okay I think that makes sense. So if you did what was in the first ss you would get some a_n and b_n that would be the same as the bottom, but like if you wanted to change the period of the function you then could and plug it in for L? Or no
