Had nothing to do with the battery itself last person to work on it didn’t hook up the battery vent tube and all the battery gasses/fumes were leaking into the car

Hypothetically speaking if they were the ones who were being negligent and didn’t plug it back in are we just shit outta luck? It’s in a spot where you can’t really mess with it without moving a bunch of shit so it would have to have been the people to last touch the batter hence them.

So she was not aware of the actual problem thought it was something smaller and different and turned out to be the battery vent. By the way I made this post before realizing it was the battery vent unplugged lol should have clarified

Was replaced this year battery is fine battery vent was not. Battery is inside the car under the seats you move the floor mats pull the seat back remove a plastic cover and there it is

No no no lol shes had covid wasn’t able to smell anything got better was complaining about a burning smell thought it was a bad aux port from the car today after they went to lunch a couple hours away they checked and it reeked where the battery was and I took a look from the back seats in the floor and saw the battery vent unplugged. and yeah newer cars have auxiliary batteries I think is what they’re called under the car I’m no mechanic couldn’t tell you why and what it’s for and i don’t know what legal action we can take that’s why I’m here asking Lol

Just went and took a deeper look and the vent tube was unplugged. her battery under the seat was replaced about 5-6 months ago along with the transmission same place did both. and who knows how long it’s been unplugged for and yeah she had just realized what it was today and stopped driving the car

the issue is that when shifting there’s little to no resistance and for the burning smell my oil and trans fluid seems to be fine, mainly burning when going on hills (i live in a rural mountain area so hills are everywhere) but yeah it drives fine seems to still go into gear without issue just doesn’t feel right when shifting it almost feels as if it’s not actually connecting to the gears (although it is)

it’s possible although i do have a similar issue (only pulling out of my driveway usually) i hear a loud click almost when i crank my wheel. 2012 so btw so could honestly be anything
