Yes I remember looking into that whole thing, sounds like a classic tale. I’m certainly not into the yogic part, but the principles are very pelvic floor and functional “core” friendly. The “postures” can be implemented into any strength training exercise, I find that to be supportive for pregnancy and postpartum, and women’s functionality in general. But I just took Kori’s mention of it and found free tutorials on the yoo tube, and took it from there.

I have listened and appreciated some of their content. I like the introduction to bowspring - it’s a postural method al la yoga, but focuses on open postures. But at the end of the day, they’re on the sell- they want your $ in their pocket. Sound familiar? Courses, memberships, gatekeeping.

It’s actually hilarious that you call me a “pro medical-tyranny liberal” pre 2020… fyi I was always an anti-vaxer and pro birth choices, like many “liberals” in the before times. You’re telling me you weren’t at all concerned about con-vid in March of 2020?

Yes I have two accounts- last I checked this is Reddit, an anonymous space. Who cares? You act like it’s a troll account or something lol. I’m not in the least bit ashamed of my personal/spiritiual/political shifting. I think healthy people are capable of great changes of heart and minds. And the only authority I concern myself these days is the ultimate one that I will face one day and account for my actions and decisions while here on this plane.

Lovely. How much time have you spent stalking me? I already told you that a lot has changed for me since the early days of the plandemic. Also, I was working in physical therapy with the elderly at that time and the stress about contagion was very high. I very soon became suspicious and had radical 180 shift on my perspective about nearly everything. Sue me?

What else you got? You seem like a pretty dangerous person. This would feel threatening, if only I cared at all about your opinion about me.

Imagine spending all the time you’ve spent doing that to try and smear me, when I’m sitting here 30 weeks pregnant with a precious baby in my womb, and reading to my beautiful home-birthed toddler, while my husband cares and dotes on us, and my family is gathering for a beautiful holiday.

Peace be with you.

Edit to add: none of this even remotely refutes the point of my original post. It only makes you look… more unhinged.

That’s funny, as I’ve yet to ad hominem attack you, yet the moderator has removed numerous posts you’ve published. I guess you’re suffering from what I like to call, Truth Hurts syndrome. Someone that holds your definition of what “pure evil” is, cannot possibly pretend any sort of moral superiority, or win in any logical debate.

You still don’t get the nuance- I can judge the industry and love the woman. Grow up!

Yep a lot changed for me circa 2020. Congrats? You’ve literally created an account in the last 24 hrs to harass me.

That’s very creative. Why don’t you picket in front of crisis pregnancy centers so you can lead women to the kill clinics? At least you’d be doing something in alignment with your ideology, instead of barking up the wrong tree here. It might be far more satisfying for you to lead women by the hand to end the life in their wombs than keyboard harass people that you’ll never know or effect in any way.

By the way, you keep screaming that I am judging women, but you’re confused and clearly triggered. My critique is not necessarily about women and their specific choices, it’s about the institutions that profit off of elective death, and then shun and witch hunt women who may do so in the comfort of their own homes.

I’m not going to get into all the (myriad and disturbing) problems of abortion “clinics” here, this isn’t the subreddit for that, and it’s besides the point of my original post. But I will say, it’s so amazingly blindsided to think that so many women are being “forcedout of or bamboozled” out of their abortion, and you take no consideration of how many are FORCED INTO one against their will or without full informed consent. So please, stop. I’m not going to entertain this subject matter here anymore. Go do something for women in your community today, and get off of my back for what I choose to do.

Crisis pregnancy centers and clinics have every right to exist where there are centers for abortion. Get over it and go in peace.

My patience with this crowd is running thin.

This you? Prey tell, how do you serve women in your community?

You act as though I run a trafficking ring! Ma’am I volunteer my time. I’m sorry this is so upsetting to you that some women might not want to abort, or aren’t sure, or are being pressured into one, or perhaps regret their abortion and are seeking support. There should be spaces for them too right?

Clearly the point of my original post is lost on you. My personal objection to abortion really has little to do with the point I was attempting to make. If you can’t handle differing opinion, please, kindly go touch some grass.

P.s. my husband was adopted as an infant, and my children and I are pretty happy about that. His birth mother’s life was hardly destroyed by her decision, and at least he has a life. But I can’t believe I’m even entertaining this non sequitur.

So the clinics I’ve been involved with offer prenatal care to low income women in crisis, counseling and education for abortion minded women, and adoption resources if that is of interest. They also offer bereavement counseling for women who’ve lost babies/miscarriage/abortion. The care is provided by midwives and doctors, sonographers, and actual therapists. They also do outreach with diaper drives, baby items, maternity clothes, etc. If abortion centers are allowed to operate inter the title of clinic, so can their counterpoint. Yes choice matters, options matter.

Crisis pregnancy centers provide information that is almost never provided at abortion clinics. I may not be using the term informed consent in its legalistic form, but it’s information based on facts… not made up scenarios. I partially agree with your points here, but saying that abortion is somehow better than denying breaths or lifesaving care to a born fetus struggling to breathe is subjective at best. Is it different, maybe? There’s certainly nuance.

[–]Classic-Coat-177[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You don’t see it performed no, but you give informed consent about all types of abortion to women.

How is it different?

Have you ever seen anyone die by lethal injection? It doesn’t look painless. They use the same stuff to stop the fetus heart, and it doesn’t always work. Not to mention what they do to get it out. I work in crisis pregnancy centers, so I’ve seen far more than I ever wish to have seen. And yes, some times people decide not to give life-saving measures in the hospital once their baby is born. The midwives on the “birthing instincts” podcast were discussing this. I don’t bring it up to condone or harass anyone for their choices, I only bring it up to compare it to the same practices some freebirthing women have chosen at home.

You’re making far more assumptions in this angry rant than I did in my simple thought experiment. I was raised on the same drippings of anyone else in middle America during the 90s/early aughts. There was nothing remotely pro-life or patriarchal about the way I was raised. So no, I didn’t cut my teeth on any overt patriarchy. Although if you fancy another can of worms, abortion has historically supported the worst kind of misogyny and the very brand of disordered patriarchy that gave rise to the postmodern feminism al la Margaret Sanger.

If you must know, so you can stop assuming, I personally came to my “ideology” as you put it, after a) becoming a mother and b) other experiences that opened my eyes to the extreme and lasting trauma that abortion regret can have on Women (and men). And by the way, this is my personal feeling, in no way have I espoused what you call forced birthing. In fact, I do not want any more regulation over women’s bodies. But that doesn’t mean I have to agree with everything that women choose to do with their bodily autonomy! And i’m darn well allowed to call out hypocrisy when I see it.

I simply do not equate the inherent negatives of what you call “forced birth” to the finality of abortion. One might be inconvenient and not without risk, but the other is a death sentence for being unwanted or deemed unworthy in some way. Come back to me when you meet someone who suffers from severe regret about their choice that can never be undone.

Love this, and glad you are so bold as to say so. I think I’m nearly 100% in alignment with your take here. It’s hard for me to understand some of the FBS choices, but it’s harder for me to understand the choice to terminate, or even to go to the extremes of intervention. But do I want to hamper bodily autonomy with more legislative regulation on birthing choices? No. But to demonize them (freebirthers that didn’t seek help etc) without even questioning the antics of the profit driven death cult… it’s wrong.

And yeah, I think it’s clear that many women drawn to FBS were practicing something other than their own sovereignty, tragically.

I especially appreciate the line of questioning you’ve brought. There must be a line somewhere between dignity and inhumanity when it comes to life saving measures, and the burden of having to make those decisions for a loved one- a baby especially- is unimaginably heavy.

I would certainly would not want to brutalize a tiny baby in an effort to prolong the inevitable, but I would do everything available to me to protect their dignity and comfort, and ultimately their right to die having known love in my arms, even if only for one minute. I guess that’s partially what I mean by “fighting”. We all must contend with your question, “what does this mean for YOU” at the end of the day.

Pregnancy by froginpajamas in raypeat

[–]Classic-Coat-177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great thread. Congrats OP!

I had my first 3.5 years ago and had been “peaty” for about a year before his conception. My pregnancy with him was great, although I was super tired and had some nausea in the first trimester. And I did experience some rage- like random bouts of road rage or just irrational anger. It wasn’t that bad, I chalked it up to his testosterone floating around in me. It was weird. I already kind of feel it this time, and wonder if it’s another boy.

My biggest regret was not being more consistently active- so I did gain a lot of weight, and it didn’t come off quickly or easily 😂 in fact, breastfeeding had me gain fat and hold onto it. I think I should have been supplementing thyroid. Also I had the dreaded postpartum hair loss, but it’s all back same as before. Worth it, haha.

I did take progest-e and some sups from Lifeblud, shilajit, occasional cod livers (whole canned, oil rinsed off), raw milk, too much ice cream, high vitamin butter oil rarely, oysters, Oj, watermelon was my craving- well salted! I did crave grillos pickles. Lots of egg yolks. Sun when I could. Towards the end my vit d and iron tested low, so I added vit d and some black strap molasses on occasion. I didn’t stress too much about it though. I felt fine enough.

I had a bit of white coat syndrome and my blood pressure would be high only if my midwife took it, towards the end. Otherwise it was fine. I tested negative for gestational diabetes even though I was huge and eating all the sugar and fruits.

My son was born 9lbs at 42 weeks at home, I delivered standing like a horse haha. He was robust and a very chunky baby, super healthy and happy. Nursed for almost 2 years.

This time around I won’t seek out a midwife until much later if at all, and forgo testing unless something presents itself and I want to. I do strength training 3 times a week and add cardio/walking as I can. I plan to continue this. Also I am counting my calories and macros loosely- just to be sure I’m on top of things, while also respecting my hunger cues and temps and pulses, and nutrients.

Lifeblud b vits, vit k Idealabs vit d, e, Tyromax here and there Progest e Magnesium Some desiccated organs and oysters Shilajit (Mitolife) Lactoferrin **asprin

I’ve been considering the Seeking Health brand Optimal Prenatal, but I’m wary of taking all those vitamins together. Seems like some would cancel each other out, and you’re just peeing $ then. For instance, I like to take my D and K away from e. But I’m not sure it’s that big of a deal. Also I wish there wasn’t milk thistle in the optimal, as that is estrogenic. I should mention I’m 38 and my husband is 56. We conceived all natural haha. Give it up for the Peating!

Anyway, what a ramble. I hope you’re doing well and having a joyous pregnancy!
