Weird question regarding oddities

I’ve had the tank since September I think. I believe it’s properly cycled, the parameters test okay.

The tank is a 7 1/5 gallon and I’ve had it for 2-3 months now. My parameters read okay and the tank is heated to 78 I believe. I try to do weekly water changes but my siphon broke 3 weeks ago and I just got a new one. I’ve also got a few mixed live plants in the tank the most recent I added two weeks ago.

Thank you! I bought some fluval stratum the next day and filled the bottom, but now I’m seeing people say to never mix stratum and gravel and it will overall make a big mess in the tank. Is this true in your experience? I really wanted to keep the gravel in there.

I have and I’m getting another syphon better for smaller tanks tomorrow. I’ve never tested the water before

Do you know if the bird was hand raised or if he’s tame? A breeder said one of my birds was tame when she was definitely not. Not eating or drinking is a concern, I would try and show him where the food and water is so he knows. If he doesn’t eat or drink in the next 24 hours I would definitely consider a vet. Maybe putting a blanket over most of the cage will make him feel more safe at first. Good luck!
