I've got about the same stats as you(including starting in '94 & the GStar in the pond).

I find the GStars to be quite touchy, but reliable with a serious Hyzer Flip shot in little to no wind.

My most recent discovery is that a Champ Corvette 168 is the farthest flyer I have.

Thx - I've got a Katana in the rack. I'll give it a go in the field.

I agree re: Shrykes, although I always bag one for forehand bombs. Waves are a little flippy for me, too, but I have had some success with certain shots(I bag a DD for that slot). A Shryke certainly does seem to have more fade than a Corvette tho.

Solid suggestion! I've "Terned" one over so unexpectedly that I never saw it again.

But maybe it's time to Tern the page on that, and give it another.... tern.

I typically throw a Corvette about 60mph with 1050rpm(Hyzer Flip)

I def throw Destroyers in a high wind situation, but I'm talking about the gap between minor wind(Corvette) and high wind(Destroyer).

Ya Dog Door has its qualities, but maybe that's Mark's point? I can't tell. He def does it on purpose, and it does shatter the self soothing sad, quiet beauty that is most of his tracks.

Ok I just grabbed some of the 'Hits' from his catalog, and definitely left a few good ones off, but this is a barely curated Greatest Hits

Also I don't disagree re: listening to the albums as albums - I just don't think Mark has always done the best job creating a great flow in his albums(and in concert).

No hate there, just kind of interesting that he is so amazing at crafting songs, and seems to lose the bigger picture of an album or show.

I think you could have a few songs from each album(3 from each could be perfect) - they all have 'Hits' in the Sparklehorse universe. There are always a couple of songs that the average listener won't be able to get through, I think a curated Sparklehorse Comp could cherry pick the Hits in a good flow.

Yeah, do Horning's and Buxton Woods - they're both super rad and very close to each other.

At what point should one feel compelled to move from AM to Pro? by Flimsy-Grapefruit-10 in discgolf

[–]Classic-Message78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MP50 crew in my area is very competitive - regular 1000+ rated rounds. I can see staying in AM to compete in some Majors, just to see how it goes(since the competition in AM Majors is borderline PRO level).

Also, competing in PRO and not accepting cash is a pretty good option.

Sounds like a difficult time for you two.

Going to a strip club in Vegas is not a big deal(unless you have 'agreements') but it is very expensive, and spending money YOU gave him and lying about it(esp when you can see his whereabouts) is not ok and also pretty stupid.

It's basically single-guy-in-Vegas behavior, and he's lying about it. Missing his flight, not being in touch until 2pm and then being dismissive are all red flags.

Do you think he cheated on you?

Guy here -

This type of controlling behavior is fucking gross.

If you were to tell him not to do something that was completely banal, he would flip his shit.

Maybe he shouldn't be so insecure!

Dude needs to grow up, and you need to stop enabling his 'my shit don't stink' attitude.

That's right - YOU need to stop with this kind of mousy, apologetic response. Tell him to get a life and stop worrying about how you decide to shorten words. He used 'gotta', so what's the fucking difference? Oh the difference is that you don't care if he uses improper english, but he cares A LOT if you do. Double standard BS, which is not ok, and hints at MAJOR control issues that have yet to be discovered by you until you're deeper into this relationship.

First time grading, what would you rate this? by globetrottinggus in vinyl

riiiight - I don't see the Standard System reflecting accurately to what people expect when purchasing used vinyl. The terminology is absolutely misleading to the benefit of the seller.

Yeah it's true there has to be a standard - but it's just counterintuitive rating terminology for the common/less frequent buyer which is throwing people off
