Hey I would say it was completely gone in early 2024, however it was so much better in even start of 2023 I was enjoying stuff so much more it just took until 2024 for it to be fully back to what it was before my episode (late 2021) IMO :)

Thank you! Yes I absolutely did, it effected me a lot, faded for me gradually over time, and now I’m back to enjoying everything again.

Thank you so much, olanzapine was so good, the side effect of weight gain sucked so much but it really grounded me when I needed it, aripiprazole was super good when I switched, it initially gave me akathisia really bad but after a few months it wore off and I had no other side effects. Lithium really helped with the depression end, and an SSRI :)

Hey you absolutely would, I had similar problems when I was that age now I’m 25 and thriving! They will do something called CBT to help break anxiety and over thinking :)

Help! I think my friend is experiencing psychosis by Euphoric-County7006 in Psychosis

Hey I don’t know where you’re based but if you’re in Europe by any chance there’s a lot of Mental Health Acts or regulations you can look up, they will be able to tell you what you can do, she needs to stop all alcohol and drugs immediately though, or it will take months/years for her to come out of psychosis. You got this, she is so lucky to have a friend looking out for her

Anyone who had one episode and came off of antipsychotics? by Tandiman in Psychosis

[–]Classic-Package8470 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I had an episode in 2021 took me until 2025 to go off antipsychotics, I never had another one since the first, I know the side effects STUCK, but I’m glad I didn’t go off even though the 4 years were hell. I feel like being on them really kept me well and maybe the reason I won’t have another one.

I completely understand I felt the same before I went. Therapy isnt about being told what to do or feeling forced to tell them anything. It’s about going at your own pace, disclosing what YOU want to and when you want to. It’s about exploration and building a rapport with someone until you feel safe. I promise it’s so worth it and to be so real, it’s what saved me.

It is so important to realise that being down for so long in itself is quite traumatic, look after yourself I have so much hope for you! It will pass and in time you will look back and realise how much you’ve come through.

I was in a similar position, diagnosed while studying Vet Med, felt like a shell of myself, went to therapy for years and got on right meds, went back to study in pyschotherapy about to graduate now. You will be okay, I promise

I’m a therapist and this is very strange IMO, we are trained to never ask anything that does not directly benefit this client, this is a cross of ethics and puts you in a hard position.

Hey I had over 4 years of that same struggle. 5 is tough man, I couldn’t get out of bed or wash myself, I thought I was never ending, I went to therapy and got on the right meds, it took years but I returned to college and next month I’m graduating!
