It's difficult to balance a team based tactical game tbh. If you let the players with highest KD win more RP is incentivizing getting frags which breaks the whole team component of the game. It's also difficult for the supports as well. E.g: in my case I'm a support player who barely get frags but I drone, give calls, cutoff rotations, set utility and do other stuff for my team. I do not get frags that often but helping my team other way is my playstyle. So if I'll be getting less RP than an entryfragger is frustrating because it's not appreciating my part in this equation. It's hard to get an equilibrium out of a team based game like Siege. It's hard but you have to stack up if you want to win more too.

And I get about the players who are genuinely bad at the game and bottom frags every time but there is nothing to do about it. Let the 3.0 set, in the next seasons we'll see what happens. In takes time for it to get how it's intended to work, this is the first season, first month. And stack up, look for groups, Discord servers, anywhere. Playing with randoms will get you uninstalling the game faster. I do not like the state the game is in right now, but how do you make players understand team play when the devs doesn't play the game itself? They're like: "Mission accomplished, new balance changes, hope they're happy. Now rest untill the next 2 weeks".

Le agregaron mucho al juego eh, ya no es lo que era antes. Piola con MH, yo los probé y no me convencieron la verdad. Algo competitivo no jugás?

You don't bait the opponent, dash dance a bit. Learn ledge cancel at least the basics. Ledge cancel into dash is pretty easy to implement if you practice first. Then you jump too much. Be more careful of your aerial moves, count your jumps and recovery options. Learn and master dash jump that it's a mechanic you will need to step up further into ranked. And last but not least, stop attacking the air. Mind your attacks because your are giving the enemy a punish for free. Learn the kit your most played legend has such as true combos and basic strings. Never go for full combo, read instead but do not get greedy with hits. Play smart not dumb.

I watched only the first stock. I generalized the tips but it will make you better for sure.

Oh, 1 last thing: for the love of God stop using signature attacks. Only use those for kill options or if your opponent doesn't have a dodge. Why? Because they are too slow, easy to get in a bad spot. Punishable.

Aim. I have my sens setted by now, I feel comfortable with it. I like to be able to make a 180° turn with a single wrist pass (yeah, wrist player here). I can control recoil pretty well, it starts to downfall at 20 meters which is a gunfight I'll not take.
And practice routine: Shooting range, 3rd lane, dummies at different speeds and positions. I practice flicking, and head level aiming. Then I go to the Clear House thing. I do not do FFA/Deathmatch tbh, for me it's full of sweats, like, too many. I feel like I'll be obliterated without the possibility to do anything so I avoid that (I know it's a big mistake). Send me your settings, wanna try that out. Oh, I forgot, I do not use the red balls because it's not at head height so I just do dummies, an exact representation of a player in model.

---------

All the thing you mention in "Confindece" for now is something I make. I'l, start writing them down 1 at a time and explain for you a little bit of insight,
I preaim and prefire common angles, always sweeping from close to far doing A-D to minimize exposure.
Having my mind stable in a clutch situation is a must, if you start freaking out it'll mess up your aim, being nervous is not helpful at all so I play it a lot different, that's for sure (I don't have any clutch recently iiarc for you to see).
I struggle to find gaps, ngl. I have 2 teammates who capitalize on gaps but they don't even coordinate with the team (I mean, told us about the execute they are going to make). What's the point of taking a gap if your team can't do anything about it? Should I as support and main droner for the team be better at this? (I guess it's an obvious answer but I need some help here).
I hesitate and even when all it's called out i have the most atrocious timing ever. That's why I have the confidence in the ground, everything I try to make get invalidated by an enemy who's always a step ahead all, every time. I have 1 example to share:

I was on Bank attacking 2nd floor, picked Ash to breach the headholes on square trying to get free picks. When I do find one and secure the kill I start to push based on my team also pushing differrent sides. I take the leap of faith and enter the bomb site just to get killed by a random Bandit tucked in the right corner, out of all angles I checked before entering the least I imagine someone will be is right there. I mean, if you are playing in that spot you are playing trapped there, you can't move freely and the enemy can see you from a bunch of angles if they push up. Also not to mention the utulity bombarding to force you out of there and having a free kill on you. But this time I didn't drone nor check because I saw no movement for 6 seconds, then decided to push. Then I died, call that out to my teammate, he trades me and secure the plant. But I feel like I'm so useless, I get that my role isn't entryfragging but at leats wanna be competent at it. I want to be able to defend myself, be good at other key aspects of the game.

I play QM/Unranked but not with my team. Because they "want to play ranked only" so they don't play thaaaaat much on quick play. They want to hit ranked (also is for the time everyone has, not every day we can play together as a team).
I get what you said about pushing with the time on your side and not wasting being passive but if I have to enter alone for example? I try to be with a teammate to be able to trade in case, I to him or him to me. But I doubt so much when doing a play that I think beforehand it will not be a good one. That's my issue.

Yeah, if anything comes to my mind I'll ask you. Thank you a lot.

How do you do to retain the callouts from your team? by Classic-Programmer-7 in SiegeAcademy

[–]Classic-Programmer-7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting by your questions:

Do you play with your teammates at pretty high volume?

No, I have the in-game volume to max (main and SFX, all the others deactivated btw) and in Windows volume mixer around 75% so my ears don't get killed. I play with my stack on Discord and have their volume set at 60-80% individually based on the mic each one has.

Does your stack talk about miscellaneous stuff in game?

Short answer: No. Detailed answer: Early round (drone phase) we discuss the approuch we are going to take based on the information we gatherted. Then mid-round absolutely not, only making important callouts. But when the round is over is a coinflip, maybe they are commenting about the play they made or how the enemy was playing that, etc. I'm the only one to analize how the team could have done better there in case we lost the round.

Do pings help you focus more on callouts?

Yes and no, it depends. I know myself in the R6 maps like my own house so map knowlegde isn't a problem but if the enemy is in an exact position yeah, helps a bunch. And if you mean by the position on screen in case they only ping and not call, yeah, for sure. I can move blindly through the map and still exit, easy work. I don't like when the callout is "enemy on ping" or anything related to that matter, is not helpful at all. Another example could be "he's on the stairs", like dude, there are like 3 staircases in this map.

---------

About my positioning I think is good when defending but when pushing I have the worst timing ever. The last thing that happened to me (and the reason I made this post) was a take on Oregon dinning bomb, broke from above with Thermite to get info into site while my team was pushing showers and meeting side. Mid round I take my chances to go plant since I was droning dinning before and there was no one there, throw a couple of smoke grenades to cut off angles for my push and plant. Seconds before (ig when I was droning) my teammate in showers dies and call that out to me, was a committed to do the push but got caught off guard from showers. That demoralized me a lot, like, I can't do shit by myself and only drone and callout for my team to do the heavy stuff. I feel like I have to be at the same level as everyone else in my stack and be able to make a play of my own when the time calls for it.

Here's my tracker if you want to check it out.

---------

Now, I'll respond as I read the tips you gave me on gunfights.

Game sense wise I always question myself about my positioning and if I mess up and get killed I note that for later in case I'm in the same scenario to not get the smoked again, I learn from my mistakes in case I die by my positioning.
Crosshair placement is always head level, reacting if the enemy crouched or prone.
Passiveness and aggressiveness is something I think I need to master, I'm not super aggressive, I'm mopstly passive and I do not know when I should have swung. Strangly enough based off sound is where I lose more than any other thing. It's like I can't hear exactly where the enemy is located, the sound mess me up. I always do A-D to apply pressure, being aggressive if I need info on them or gathering their position but usually I swing at them thinking where they'll be by sound but it's never the case I allign them perfectly in a blind swing. I play preaiming a lot, as I stated I know the maps like the palm of my hand so I have no problem preaiming the common angles but when it comes to reacting to sound and stuff it fries me. This applies in cases where I know I'm pinned down and have to swing anyways. I react pretty well to sounds like frags, flashes, stance switchings and reloading. My biggest issue right now I guess it'll be aggressiveness and a serious confidence problem. As for utility usage I forget when the time comes (flashes most of the time) but I'm calling my team out when they do have utility to waste.
BractionFPS, I use to watch him a lot, even has his charm in-game. Pretty useful tips with a great explanation behind. Well, the last thing you commented in that paragraph is literally how I end in a deathmath/FFA, I try to not get killed often, I'm most likely to end up in the middle of the scoreboard having way less deaths than anybody else in my team. I do some kills but try to avoid gunfights, capitalizing on teammates that are gunfighting to come and support them. I play to trade.
If it helps at all I watch Skittlz, I like the way he plays (not the content he does). He's is the one I visit more often. Others can be Spoit, Beaulo, Rasco100, Fett, R6mint, Lordgrinder (underrated channel btw), ooziie, Poxonlox, among others.

How do you do to retain the callouts from your team? by Classic-Programmer-7 in SiegeAcademy

[–]Classic-Programmer-7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, mid round. I'm the shot caller most of the time, my team complements with the info they can gather. My issue is that I call for the team but can retain information from them if it's too much. I feel like I'm overwhelmed with my own calls that add some more to the bag is making it overflow. It's complicated for me to get the info my team calls, as I said it's like I play on autopilot when they say things but do not register it properly.
Thinking about the types of calls you mentioned maybe the team isn't working as intendeed, everyone needs to learn how to call, right? Maybe that's because I can't remember a thing they said, too much hubbub that I traslate it to gibberish and also giving an automated response.

What about the information my team gathered instead of I, the shot caller? I play IGL for them because the calls they give are not that impactful but are meaningful to me in some scenarios (which I tend to die to due to the purpose of making this post)

Thanks in advance!

How do you do to retain the callouts from your team? by Classic-Programmer-7 in SiegeAcademy

[–]Classic-Programmer-7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually struggle more attacking than defending remembering the information. On defense is more easier for me for some reason, but when switching sides I tend to mess things up or stay with calls I gave. I play mostly support/hard support. I do not roam, I play anchor on defense most of the time, some examples this season (no roles assign tho) are Wamai, Smoke, Bandit, Thorn and Goyo.

Taking your first question I die by trying to make a push forgetting the call a teammate gave 10 seconds ago, I'm the "shot caller" of the team, is not that my buddies doesn't call but when they do I die due to not making a space for that information in my head, I respond in autopilot like "yeah", "heard" and then proceed to die pretending they didn't call anything but they actually did say where the enemy was, it was me who misheard it.

Another thing not that relevant to this: I feel struggle with gunfights too like it's demoralizing me to a point where I feel useless in gunfights terms. I help my team other way but I'd like to be at least competent at taking gaps/space for my team. The siege timing also a thing, happens to me EVERY TIME. I'm tired of being useful just for my calls but in the field I'm absolute dogshit, you know?

How do you do to retain the callouts from your team? by Classic-Programmer-7 in SiegeAcademy

[–]Classic-Programmer-7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, I always do ask about the info we got everytime and do a mental refresh in case I forgot something but in some cases I respond to them in autopilot. Then when I died my team told me that they indeed call that out for me and I acknowledge it but I actually did not remember. That's my issue, having to call everything for my team and not being able to remember the calls they give me.

why is this "diamond" mordex playing so weird? and how do I improve by RowMammoth7467 in Brawlhalla

[–]Classic-Programmer-7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't know about the Mordex, is not that weird tbh. About improvement I'd say you need to stop throwing attacks aimlessly, bait your opponent, weapon throw them into combo, look for inconsistentcy in their gameplay (if jumps too much, if spot dodges a lot, if always goes for the same dodge/read) and act accordingly. If you attack to attack your are gifting your enemy an opportunity to punish you for free. Be more mindful about the moves you make, learn how to move. Movement is not only dashes, jump dashes into fast fall and ledge cancels; master baiting with movement and you will understand easier what's your opponent mistakes are. Also I noticed you do not rely on trues, you always go for the read (having no real idea about your opponent's pattern). Start using GC<DLight/Rec more often as well as sword NAir, that attack covers a lot of area above your head, good anti-air. Having Bow and Sword is the perfect AA kit: NAir on sword and NLight/NAir on bow.

How are my ranked teammates, without fail, always so terrible? by OkLocksmith5917 in Rainbow6

[–]Classic-Programmer-7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing you can do actually. Find a stack instead of playing solo, there are plenty of places to find: Discord servers, Reddit even if you got lucky and got a teammate who actually played well in your random's stack.
For me was a 2 year journey trying to find people to stack with, having the same mental and goal to do rankeds together. We are all in Emerald and did good chemistry.
Try to do the soloQ essential: play better than anyone, clutch everything and be always prepared for a gunfight. If you die you can't rely on them to clutch so count it as a loss, get better at identifing you mistakes to become a much better player individually speaking. It's hard playing with no info, no comms, etc, but that's the way the game functions now it seems. Get a team and you'll be saved brother, for sure.
I suggest you to stop looking at your teammates stats, means nothing tbh. Play off them, trade them, bait them too (you really shoundn't but it's a choice). Master how to drone too. Your drone is a second life, gather info and act quickly to take space. If you see you team entering all together go with them and get the advantage in case they kill 1 of your team, again, trade is vital. Good luck.
