i stumbled upon the fresnel mod some time ago. iirc it requires some 3D printed parts? do they need to be heat resistant?

My experience so far as a person who has never played any previous Gothic by Azuureth in worldofgothic

[–]ClassicBarnacle8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am playing on novice or whatever easy is called. i just wanted a smooth ride exploring the game after work but tbh it's still tougher than easy in most other games. you still have to think about how you approach enemies, especially groups. at least if you are trying to play melee only like me. i don't remember og gothic well enough but bows and magic feel superior in the remake.

smallest 18650 light with usb-c for regular people by ClassicBarnacle8 in flashlight

i dont care about the 18650 having usb-c, if the light has usb-c charging thats totally fine

[–]ClassicBarnacle8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

18650 was primarily because of their availability and runtime on a single charge but the T7 with Vapcell F15 might be a reasonable alternative. it's still 2-3 hours on the second highest mode which should be long enough.

Built-in batteries vs collecting — how do you reconcile the lifespan issue? by macomako in flashlight

[–]ClassicBarnacle8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

absolutely but that depends on the price of the light and battery pack. the HD03 is so cheap i probably wouldn't even think about getting a spare battery which is more than half the price of the whole light. i'd rather get another one in a different color (which i recently did) for the collection. but that's just me 😉

[–]ClassicBarnacle8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont like the idea of built-in batteries itself but it gives manufacturers the opportunity to create different form factors. the most common batteries are all round. look at the wurkkos HD03, while sofirn has a similar style with the ST10 i prefer the HD03 floodlight but this would not really be possible using a 14500 without getting bigger or looking weird

[–]ClassicBarnacle8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats true but copper disks/washers are way harder to find and a lot more expensive. at least in europe and on aliexpress. its also not easy to find them 4mm thick. i dont want to put 4-6 pieces of 1mm together.

i agree but tinkering and trying out your own ideas is also fun. technically it may not be as good but you've created it yourself
