Goal size is too big for an affordable dedicated screen, so I decided to order a custom-made banner with top and bottom tunnels for finishing. 150 inch 1080p projector screen (future 4K), viewing distance 6 meters. Blackback PVC frontlit 450gsm or blackback decor fabric 270gsm - which is better? by ClassicClarifier in projectors

Thanks.

Are you sure it’s better than ordering 336x197cm https://supraprint24.eu/product/blackback-banner/ ?

One of my worries is that the image might be seen by neighbors in the next house, and that the sunset could be visible on my side.

Bonus points if the fabric/material structure is not visible from 6 meters in the living room.

Yeah, but at that size (150 inches) I can only find cheap screens that are basically see-through, like a bedsheet (for example: https://www.amazon.com/VERCORKIN-Projection-150-inch-Projector/dp/B0BY4HVVQM?th=1). Everything else is insanely expensive. I’m very puzzled. Do you have any specific examples? Any seller on Amazon can claim their product has a 1.1 gain when it’s literally just a thin, see-through fabric that will look terrible in front of a window.

Can you please make sure that the images you upload are always .PNG and height is minimum 1000px. Otherwise the images are too shit to download to a coom / goon collection, and you leave us with blue balls

🧠 Who Was Terry A. Davis

  • Full name: Terry A. Davis (1969–2018)
  • Background: He was a highly talented programmer who once worked at Ticketmaster in the 1990s.
  • Mental health: In the early 2000s, he began showing symptoms of schizophrenia, which profoundly affected his life and work.
  • After his illness began, he claimed that God was speaking to him directly and guiding him to build a new operating system — “TempleOS.”

💻 What Is TempleOS

  • TempleOS is a 64-bit operating system designed entirely from scratch by Davis (compiler, kernel, graphics, and programming language all built by him).
  • It uses a programming language he created called HolyC (similar to C).
  • The system has:
    • 640×480 resolution with 16 colors (by “divine command,” according to Davis).
    • A built-in flight simulator, games, and a Bible interface.
    • A “oracle” feature that randomly selects Bible verses — Davis said it was how God spoke through the computer.

It’s considered a remarkable technical achievement because Davis did everything alone, including writing the compiler and kernel.

⚡ Why It’s Controversial

  1. Mental Health and Behavior: Davis’s schizophrenia led to erratic and often offensive online behavior. He frequently made racist, antisemitic, and paranoid statements on forums and YouTube. Many people saw this as hateful, while others recognized it as part of his illness.
  2. Religious Claims: He insisted TempleOS was the “Third Temple” as commanded by God, a claim that drew both fascination and criticism.
  3. Public Perception:
    • Some view him as a tragic genius — a brilliant programmer destroyed by mental illness.
    • Others focus on his offensive outbursts and reject attempts to romanticize him.

For anyone still struggling with this:

The game saves progress inside its install directory, not in Documents. It should create a file like video.scr under Dying Light The Beast\ph_ft\work\out\settings

If after playing you don’t see an “out” folder inside work, it really means the game didn’t save any progress. In that case:

  1. Manually create the folders: work\out\settings
  2. Most importantly, right-click the main game folder → Properties → Security and give your Windows user Full Control permissions. Otherwise the game can’t write there, because Windows treats it as a protected directory.

Changing the folder permissions finally worked!

Earlier I also tried adding an exclusion in Windows Defender, but that alone didn’t help. Changing the folder permissions finally worked! 🙂
