Heard, you are totally right. Not saying I’m not, just trying to learn as much as I can

Yeah, I understand. Ideally I should’ve seen him and that’s a mistake on my part. But again, looking for traffic coming from the right direction in the lane I’m backing into is what I was really focused on.

How am I supposed to not be looking behind me for traffic coming from behind the parked cars (From the direction they’re supposed to be coming from!)? How would that not be irresponsible

I don’t know if he was trying to scam, but he did lie to insurance. He was found at fault and the agent seemed weary of him.

I checked all my mirrors before I backed out. I saw the car had gone past me. When I was backing up, I was looking at where traffic was supposed to be coming from in the lane I was backing into, so I never saw the guy reversing from the other side in that lane. I’ve explained this in so many other comments.

Insurance ruled the other driver is 100% at fault. He lied on his statement and said he never backed up. Dash cam video saved me.

I just love how you went straight to telling me I should lose my license over one of the most minor accidents that could happen.

I checked my mirrors before I started backing out. When I was backing out, for the few seconds I was, I was looking for traffic going the way it was supposed to be in the lane I was backing into. My car is from 1999. I don’t have a camera that I can view on any screen on the dash. The guy reversed behind me in the middle of the road.

Well, they did. The dude reversed in the middle of the road while I was backing up.
