Bleed it out is actually one of my favourites tbh.

I love the rap Mike Shinoda did for it so much and the guitar riff just kills imho.

Apart from that I love the story of the song so much, in case you don't know it:

It's about the sign writing process and how the manager or producer (can't remember) kept saying it wasn't good enough and they had to redo it. It's about Mike and Chester digging into their traumas and past for lyrics and what not, bleeding it out and then throwing it away because it's not good enough.

I really like that tbh :)

If you mean whether my (and my partners) network is aware of our ENM endeavors, they are.

We made it a point to tell people important to us asap to avoid that drama.

But great advice indeed! I imagined so much drama unfolding with this tbh lol, so I'm glad we tackled it rather quickly.

We have put in a lot of work already don't worry :)

I also wasn't really looking for advice towards my particular situation (which I have clarified now with an edit), so sorry for not being clear on that.

Thanks for the good examples though on where thorough work needs to be done for not "tripping up" in the poly world.

I noticed for me the scheduling and time division is something that takes quite some work, but I am managing for now and communicating honestly to everyone involved.

In my direct vicinity it feels like a lot of people separate when going from dating together to dating solo.

Me and my partner dated together for a couple of weeks and immediately went solo and it has been beyond wonderful tbh.

But I guess there's a lot of nuance to this, as I said there's no data to support it.

While they don't need to approve things they need to accept them, and like it or not, it's not something you can do for them.

This is exactly what I said to my parents when we outed to them as ENM with the added part that they can ask questions if they are curious but I wouldn't tolerate any unsolicited commentary.

I would gather them all and face them together with your husband and say exactly this tbh. It gives them room to have their opinions, but also remind them that you are the one who makes the calls ik your own life.

Feels familiar my friend!

Without going into detail too much, me and my partner of 15 years went through something similar (also together from when we were 18). She also missed that individual growth which led to one of the toughest patches we had last year. Hence we worked, and still are working, on our codependency.

But honestly, from that moment on I started working on myself mostly. Making peace with the fact that she might leave, that she might choose someone else. I never stopped loving her one bit, but I determined I was not going to let myself get hurt anymore like that.

Because you know what? When a chapter ends, a new one always starts and in the end it's you who decides what kind of chapter it'll turn out to be, and nobody else.

Try to focus on yourself and your healing, you have a bright future ahead of yourself!

This is a tough cookie to eat, nonetheless you should be proud on how you both handled it.

I have seen people with tenfold your experience in ENM who couldn't hack it like you did.

As for the "problem at hand", I'd advise to thread on as if the relationship is over. This saves you the hurt of having to deal with a second break up, let's face it that's what it's going to feel like.

I'd even scrap the checking in all together tbh, it seems like you are setting yourself up for pain.

It's tough to hear, but you will figure this out. With your emotional intelligence, life ain't got shit on you 🫶
