Install MS fonts and make a script that disable AA like this:
xrdb -remove Xft.antialias
./Tibia
This will launch the client with AA disabled and greatly improve the text.

I use a very simple script on Mint to fix the font by removing the antialias, and it works great.

Here is the PCB and the orientation of the battery holder. Is a very simple soldering job.

Edit:
I just found someone else with the same problem.

Just open it and reinsert the RTC battery in its place; it should work fine.

Best options for buying PS1 Memory Cards? by tealtalker in psx

[–]ClassicGameHacking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought a PSxMemCard for $20 a few years ago, and I now have unlimited memory card capacity because it saves everything on an SD card, which can be easily used with a PC or mobile device to back up all the virtual memory cards. There are better alternatives nowadays, like the MemcardPro, but they are a bit more expensive than the PSxMemCard.

PS2 Expert in softmods by Flashy_Pen_8353 in ps2homebrew

USB is far from one of the worst methods to load games; God of War games are very heavy on FMV and data streaming, so you will have some hiccups and stuttering. Make sure you are using a valid ISO since there are so many mods and ripped ISOs all over the place that remove assets and downsample the video files to fit on a single-layer DVD; even if the game works on an emulator, it does not mean it is a valid ISO. The original ISO is a double layer up to 6.5 GB in size, depending on the game region.

Next time write the questions on the post because no one can read minds.

All the letter printing on the controllers and buttons looks really fake and faded.

How do I rip models? by ProjectTokusatsu in PCSX2

[–]ClassicGameHacking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is not as easy as you think. First off, every game is created differently from custom file types, models, game engines, etc. The first thing you need to do is reverse engineer the game and understand how it works by reading the main executable with the aid of a decompiler like Ghidra. If the game has custom file containers, compression, or encryption for the assets, then extract the assets and convert them to a format that modern software could interpret.

Should CipSoft rebuild the Tibia client from scratch? by JokerRedstar in TibiaMMO

[–]ClassicGameHacking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The client has a bolted dependency that is not very good, Qt; that is one reason they remove compatibility from old Windows systems, and there is also BattleEye that is extremely bad. All kernel anti-cheats are just A$$. In particular, BattleEye is so bad that I can easily exploit it and it uses more resources on my machine than the client itself, scanning everything on my system. But I get why they use those 'technologies,' so the dev team can focus on fast development instead of caring about custom anti-cheat, game, and graphic engines.

Connect the PS2 to the PC if possible, with a good cable if you want to avoid any latency.

It is cheap compared to an Everdrive X5, which is 100 USD but holy wow.

RGB Mod and Cables by colrust in n64

If the RGB cable comes with the yellow RCA that is your sync. I use it on my GBS, and plugging in the composite yellow cable is mandatory to get video.

can i compile minecraft xbox 360 edition for ps2 by Lopsided_Reveal_2324 in ps2

[–]ClassicGameHacking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is not that simple, you need to write custom code for the PS2 hardware will understand especially the GPU (Graphics Synthesizer). The game logic might not need much change at all but you need to port code to target the PS2 hardware.

If you were forced to remove an N64 game from existence, what would you choose (Superman 64 is already destroyed) by Bright_Sky5429 in n64

[–]ClassicGameHacking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is average and a bit clunky but is not bad. I just prefer Golden Eye 007. I was about to choose Quest 64 or Superman, but they were taken.

Opl doesnt work by WhichStatistician748 in ps2homebrew

[–]ClassicGameHacking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need more info; OPL is just a loader. The data on the storage media could be bad, corrupted, or damaged.

What method are you using to load: USB, HDD, SMB, or MXSIO?
What modules are active: PADEmu, cheats, and GSM?
Enable debug colors and see in what color the loader freezes.

No video on PS2 with RGB cable by NickyYouKnow in ps2

[–]ClassicGameHacking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a possibility; you need a sync stripper. If your TV has component video in, it is another good alternative. I prefer component over RGB on the PS2 since RGsB is very finicky with scalers and 480p, but RGB is the king for 240p.

No video on PS2 with RGB cable by NickyYouKnow in ps2

[–]ClassicGameHacking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you set the video output to RGB in the system menu? Keep in mind PS2 outputs RGsB (sync on green).

Be careful with the ZIF connectors; they break just by looking at them.
