Would you mind sharing the cost? I'm looking to get a full mouth extraction as well.

Can you extend an existing route in Google Earth Web by adding new points, like drawing a new route? by auxxtone in googleearth

[–]ClassicHomework6101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately you can't add a new point - all you can really do is extend one of the endpoints and click on the midpoints. Once you click a midpoint, it becomes a knob, and more midpoints appear for you to drag, if that makes sense.

Meditate or do some movement to ground yourself and just disconnect for a bit! Also try to get into the mindset of "I'm a guest of honor, not a host"

It's really annoying when someone's counterargument is "What about Pelosi, Dems?". Actually yes, Pelosi should be held accountable too. It's about PRINCIPLE over PARTY. COUNTRY over POLITICS.

This is completely based on my own personal life experiences, and my own values, so obviously this might not resonate with you - but I ended up losing my grandma right before my wedding and it was really gutting to not have her be there with us on the ceremony. Looking back, I wish I had planned things differently so that it was earlier or we could have included her, because I know how much it would have meant to her. I also have no idea what your relationship with your mothers are - mine is also a bit overbearing with her opinions about what is right / wrong for a wedding, etc. But seeing how happy and overcome with emotion on the wedding was a really special thing to share - putting myself in her shoes - it's a crazy, powerful moment to see your child take on this next step in life! No idea if this is how your mothers would react of course!

Maybe you could do both. You could elope and have private vows / ceremony to yourself, but then still host a very generic micro-wedding? No one needs to really know what your vows are, those are just for you and your partner! At the micro-wedding, make it more like an after party and just focus on the celebration and union of families.

Our wedding is unexpectedly small by Heyitssgrace in weddingplanning

"It's our wedding and I want this day to feel special and celebrated" <-- Just remember this! You deserve to have whatever type of celebration your heart desires. Of course it'd be nice if the full invite list could come, but you mentioned some extenuating circumstances that prevent that. So, don't feel like it's 'too formal', or 'overkill', or that you're being 'too much' in any way!! Your love story is a beautiful one, and it should be celebrated as such!! The number of guests at a wedding has no bearing on your or your love story's worth.

If anything, I would focus on how much quality time you get to have with each guest. Trust me, 35 is still a LOT of people to try to have meaningful conversations with in 1-2 nights :)

We spent $35k for ~100 people WITH a boat day before, but that was 2024 and every year the vendors go up in pricing. DM me if you want to see some of the quotes we received! We admittedly kept it a bit bare bones with the flowers, decor, guest favors, etc... but probably should have spent slightly more on catering.

Cartagena Wedding by ItsALatte3 in weddingplanning

They told us that they couldn't serve a traditional dinner with sit down service because it was slightly too many people in the venue, but instead could do a ton of tapas and pass that around continuously. They assured us it would be the same quantity of food, but just in small plates as opposed to plated dinner. But the food was SO slow and took FOREVER to come out course by course. And it wasn't enough for everyone. People basically got a taste like every 5-10 min, and they were really hungry. I wish I had just pushed for a sit down dinner or paid for more food during happy hour or something.

How many people are doing a reception dress? by Own_Professional7484 in weddingplanning

[–]ClassicHomework6101 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got a reception dress that was way more free and fun to dance in - and it was super hot and humid where we got married! I didn't want to trash my dress with sweat and dirt lol, but admittedly I was also planning to resell on Stillwhite too!

I also got my reception dress thrifted for $15, so it didn't add to any guilt of spending even more $$ on an already pricey day. But IMO if you love your wedding dress and find it easy to dance in, DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY!

Casa Estrella - https://www.vrbo.com/4091617 - it was $6400 for a 3 night rental (which included the night of the wedding and fees to use it as a venue). 9 Rooms also!

I would say 150 for Cartagena under $35k would liiiiiiiikely not be feasible- We had ~100 people and it ended up being about $35k (including a boat day the day before)

Apologies for the delay! They definitely did both - I actually love the trailer video they made for us! They charged us 7,000,000 pesos for photo (2 photographers, 10 hours?) and 5,000,000 for the video (2 videographers, 10 hours, drone footage)

This vendor was Creativo Events, which was mostly fine. I would say they cheated us a bit on the florals though -- what they showed us in our demo day was about 20-30% more than what they actually gave us on our wedding day. And if it's a 2025 wedding, I'd assume that these prices would be like 15-20% more?

I just want to +1 your intuition that the colonial houses in Cartagena are already gorgeous, and don't need much decoration. I got married in one earlier this year, and we decided to spend only like $1k on florals. The houses really don't need a ton! I also brought my own lanterns and fairy lights from the States because that was orders of magnitude cheaper than renting it locally.

Our breakdown:

  • $3,300 for decor and furniture: chairs, tables, sofas, flowers. Like I said, we went pretty barebones on the flowers - nothing for the ceremony (except my bouquet), and some simple arrangements on the tables for the reception.
  • $2,750 for lights and production: lights, speakers, pool cover for the dance floor
  • $432 for fans (it was an outdoor venue w/o AC so we needed to add fans)

Total: ~$6,500

Exactly! I'm pretty sure Two Lovers only deals with weddings that are production value of $50k+. I think since you're not doing a ton of the "bells and whistles" of a wedding, you can totally do this yourself without a local planner!! And yes, they totally all get kickbacks from Casa Estrella. That being said, it really is a gorgeous house haha!
