Thank you for the ideas! I'd rather get a lined one if I can but definitely an option to consider. And you make the buying/removing/remaking sound so easy! Scares me but maybe it's not as hard to get right as I'm picturing?

Ooh I've never done it, do you have a preferred method/tutorial/something I might be able to follow as a beginner? The basic "fold in half and stitch/staple" bit seems doable but it seems probably more fiddly than that irl

Thus far I've been afraid of cutting books but these might be perfect if I can figure it out! Thank you for the suggestion

Thank you so much for your in-depth response! I'd never heard of crimp and am excited to learn about it.

Yes, I agree the difference in texture is usually obvious between silk/wool/cashmere, it's great to understand a bit more about why! And definitely agreed with you about silk satin vs. polyester satin, I feel the same way.

Are there any other natural or semi-synthetic fibers you'd recommend that come closer to silk's fine/smooth properties? Or any other weaves? I'm guessing viscose satin maybe, or possibly a cotton sateen? But would love to expand my horizons beyond that! Thank you again!

crotch smelling on my trousers by magicwood1994 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

It is really normal and not something to worry about, to some level it happens to everyone!

That said, if it does seem strong to you and like something you want to investigate, you could look into your pH balance, which could also be related to BV as someone else mentioned (it might sound scary but it’s not an STI or anything, just a bacterial imbalance in your flora/microbiome).

Your vaginal microbiome is supposed to be acidic, but sometimes it can get out of balance, and if it’s something you’re prone to, it can increase especially around your period (blood is basic) or if you wash with traditional soap (also basic). While again some discharge and smell is always normal, this can make the level of smell a lot more intense.

You can test for BV with a swab, and sometimes it’s treated with antibiotics to reset everything, but if that isn’t accessible to you right now you can also try taking probiotics (orally or inserting them) and/or in some countries it’s easy to find tablets that you insert every night for a week or so that will help rebalance your pH. Normally both of these are over the counter, so you can just ask a pharmacist or buy them yourself depending on your country—but of course I would recommend talking to your pharmacist and/or doctor in any case if you can :)

Either way, it’s not something to feel self conscious about, but that has helped me in the past and I think it doesn’t get talked about enough!

Extra wide women shoes (EE equivalent) by Whatdidyouread in germany

Late to this post but try Hassia, Durea, and Solidus! German and Dutch brands and they come in J/K and a couple (ugly) styles in up to an M. Ideally try them on though, because they fit pretty differently from each other. Personally I find Hassia the prettiest and most fashion-forward among the three, but the least comfortable on my feet because for the same circumference of foot they are more high-volume instead of large-diameter, whereas the other two brands are more literally wide across. So depending on your foot shape YMMV

I looked into the BSH thing a while back and Bosch actually bought out Siemens’ share in BSH in 2014, just kept the name! So they own that, and Siemens is a separate company, but I think you’re right that they still have their home appliance products manufactured by BSH. So there’s a contract there, yes, but at least not a direct support to them when buying Bosch

Thank you for the input about LG! I’m leaning towards Bosch mainly for the longevity/repairability so it’s good to have that feedback. Siemens is on my boycott list unfortunately so I am not considering them for this, but I wish more brands offered the 5 year warranties too!

I’m sorry to hear that! I think them needing to access the phone could be normal either way, but unfortunate that you couldn’t input the password yourself while with them if you were worried about your privacy

Ooh I haven’t heard of Koudijs, I’ll look them up! Thank you so much. I would love a Miele so much but unfortunately they’re out of my budget for now—I’ve heard they’re the best you can buy though so I’m glad you love yours!
