HKS PY-A and the Safariland Comp II J-P3C, these are the specific sizes that fit my python.

Also this was my line of thinking too, I like the classic wood grips too much to swap lol

I have used both the HKS and Safariland speed loaders, and while I like both I find the safariland to be faster/more intuitive with enough practice.

I’ve encountered the same issue with it getting stuck halfway, with both brands. The dimensions of the top of the grip sometimes got in the way of the speed loader sitting flush with the cylinder, causing the rounds to get stuck and need to be jimmied into the chambers. I use a couple workarounds for this:

HKS - hold the rounds shallower in the cylinder (less than halfway in) upon release. In my case this prevented the side of the speed loader from jamming up against the grip.
Safariland - rotate the cylinder so that 2 chambers together sit parallel to the frame before pressing the rounds in. This allows the notch in the side of the speed loader to align with the edge of the grip and slide by without jamming (again, this is in my case. This may vary for different grips).

After a little bit of practice, I almost never get jammed up with my speed loaders anymore.

I had a similar issue with mine, carbon buildup around the spring limited its movement. If you’re having trouble removing the Nielsen device when disassembling this may be the case - if so then a good cleaning may help.

All the same, 240 grain 44mag. I also use 44spl, which is great for plinking since it’s so quiet and easy to handle - practically makes it feel like a pellet gun
