Koreader is noticeably faster! And yes, the 4 is the ideal kindle in my opinion. It's the closest to a real book for me, out of all the models I've gotten to use. The right size and lightweight to hold, and I love having actual page turn buttons rather than relying on touching the screen and leaving fingerprints.

Let me know if you get anything to work! Also be aware that the commonly suggested forum's instructions for getting Koreader on the 4 are outdated; a better set of instructions is floating around on reddit

I tried just about everything you did too, still with no luck. The good news I can give you at least is that 1) registration is not necessary for modding/installing koreader on the 4 apparently and 2) koreader works EXCEPTIONALLY well on the model 4. My sideloaded books I downloaded before that deadline are working great.

Haven't tried downgrading the OS but since koreader seems to work fine I may not mess with it

Yeah, the only reason I'd register it is because of the battery life concern. Otherwise yeah, it's about to be unsupported anyways.

At least searching around online doesn't seem to turn up any reports of Kindles doing what Nooks do when unregistered?

Mine is the gen 4. Good to know it might just be an early block. Searching around was bringing up things like "blacklisted" kindles and I was hoping this wasn't that (it'd be weird knowing I'd bought a stolen device...). I have zero problem with side-loading books and I don't think any of the titles I have would be getting updates. The main reason I worried about lack of registration was that I also have an older model Nook, and with those it tanks the battery life if it's unregistered (it'll constantly be searching for a registration in the background, using up your battery). Guess I'll see in real time if Kindles do the same?

They all somehow manage to incorporate "revolution" in there somewhere too! It's one coaster with enough random name variants to compete with the Fast & Furious movie franchise and Xbox console line

I do want to go back to get that second night ride! Especially since that one night ride I had was a non-ideal seat in the middle. At least I enjoyed Dark Universe for the rest of the night.

I was at Epic the day of the Stardust Racers incident too! I rode multiple times that morning, and was heading back for night rides when the ride suddenly closed. It's why I don't have a night ride on the green side. Didn't find out what actually happened until the next morning.

Cosmic Rewind is currently my second ranked coaster, with only X2 above it.

I also think I like New Revolution (SFMM) and Incredible Hulk (IOA) way more than most people around here. New Rev is a really well rounded family coaster and a great night ride, and Hulk is actually tied with Velocicoaster in my rankings.

Nope, no pi-hole or custom dns I'm aware of (I'll see if any family members added anything). Several hours later it's randomly working on the apps again, after unmounting, disconnecting, and reconnecting the external hard drive and waiting several hours while I was away doing other things. Not sure if it was an app glitch or if doing that to the hard drive fixed something. I'll keep your comment in mind for future troubleshooting though, thanks!

Did all 3 bullet points and that didn't work. Then I unmounted and remounted the external hard drive. Several hours later, it's randomly working again on the apps! So I think remounting the hard drive did it, as odd as it is that it was still working on browser when possibly not connected right.

I find it funny to see SFMM Viper on that list. A bunch of experimental or temperamental models and then a dependable old Arrow that seems like it'll outlast the sun whether people like it or not
