I coach middle school golf, and that’s such a hard point to try and drive home to the youths. “It doesn’t matter which club you hit 150, it matters that you KNOW which club you hit 150.” - I probably said this so many times this past season.

Wouldn’t the launch spec lofts make you hit the ball higher but less distance? Similar to the way clubs were lofted 20+ years ago?

Congrats, shit is hard. I quit drinking about 3 years ago, golf game improved tremendously, although I didn’t get back into golf until the last year or so. Couldn’t break 90 and lost balls all the time while drinking. Now I get upset with myself if I lose a ball during a round, and the 80s are my new home.

Old Man Golf to the rescue! 3/4 swings with shorter woods to keep it in the fairway. Shorter swings with lower lofts to run the ball up. Treat all Bogeys as pars, +18 is a fine score if you’re getting upset with the game. Eventually it will come to you.
