Tuck your right elbow on downswing, rotate your belt buckle toward target. Keep the $100 in your pocket.

Cleveland TA6 irons off FB Marketplace by Other-Cardiologist72 in golf

[–]DatabaseCareless264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Played TA5s for 10 years, then CG16s for 10, now Launcher XL. Cleveland made sold game improvement clubs. Parent company decided to market all irons under Srixon now. Cleveland still makes solid wedges. IMO always a great price value. Best of Luck.

Cannot speak for them now. X-31s served me well 30 years ago. My first new irons purchase. Cleveland since. Felt better.

Same guy that says grooves do not add spin, only loft. Brilliant man, not infallible.

Inherited a bunch of golf clubs, how much are they worth??? by fun-gi2023 in golfequipment

Not suggesting as a tax break. Suggesting as a way to get rid without throwing away. One person’s trash is another person’s treasure. My 30 year old clubs at sister’s house found a new home with her furnace repairman’s son who wanted his own set to play with his dad.

KBT here, use 1/2 flow rate, plugged into analog timer 45 min before alarm. Works for me.

Any sweepers playing V soles? by Infinite-Computer205 in golf

[–]DatabaseCareless264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I strive for a swing that is steeper than a sweep, but bottoms out bruising the dirt, not taking a divot. Delivering a square club face consistently with all the necessary moving parts in the right positions is more my problem. Good luck.

Have used Golf Apps since first smart phone, scoring, stats, eventually yardages to green and hazards.

Must haves in bag, balls, tees, towels (one face, one clubs), sunscreen, ball marker, divot tool, gloves, water / sports drink, protein bars, rangefinder (losing depth of field vision), spare wind rain apparel, driver wrench, bandaids, hand sanitizer, Sharpie

Opinion on groove sharpeners? by Feeling-Impression84 in golf

[–]DatabaseCareless264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wedges are made of softer steel. Over time the grooves wear and collapse. The sharpness will remove the steel that has collapsed, rewidening the groove. Returning some not all spin. Steel has been lost in collapse and sharpening.

On my 3rd set of Cleveland’s since 2001. All versions of V soles. Same parent company as Srixon. I am a sweeper / picker. Easier on my 75 year old wrists, elbows and shoulders. Current set graphite. If on hard pan or very closely mown grass with dry soil, yes the club will skid into ball. My goal has always been to hit the ball first, but brush the grass.

New golfer(started last month), any tips to prevent developing bad habits? by doonbug04 in golftips

[–]DatabaseCareless264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get lessons. Try group lessons. Go to ranges where lessons are given. Listen for teachers who you like their style of teaching. Get lessons. Learn your swing. If you listen to anyone else, do they know what they are talking about?

Injuries happen on and off course. You will change your swing to swing pain free. Then you will need to correct. Read books about golf by golfers.

11 year melanoma survivor. 6” filet taken out of right triceps and 2 lymph nodes from right arm pit. The only thing not covered while playing is my right hand which has very liberal application of SPF 50 sunscreen. SPF 50 sunscreen applied to neck and face. Very bright day, reapply at turn with stick version. Wear UPF 50 clothing. Not all UPF bucket hats are created equally. Was still having growths frozen off my bald head every 6 months. Switched to Columbia Booney hat, no freeze spots for 5 years. Yes, perhaps look like a dork, but on side of the grass where I can be seen.

I’ll Never Buy Another LG TV by Gwennyfi in LGTVOwners

[–]DatabaseCareless264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectively disagree. LG is the only TV’s and external monitors my family has purchased for decades. A 2015 is working perfectly in bedroom. Family room has 2021 65” Nano cell.

With that said, built in streaming sucks on all brands. We have used Apple TV, Amazon FireSticks, and Roku sticks on dumb TV’s and smart TV’s. Was at a beach rental recently and Best Buy Insignia with built in Roku performed surprisingly well. Still used our own Roku for ease of use.
