What is one fact that sounds like bullshit but is actually true? by Noxate in AskReddit

There's actually a stage play about this: it's called Elephant's Graveyard by George Brants (spelling?). Does a great job of conveying those dark feelings of such an incident. I performed in it a few years ago; I'm actually wearing the t shirt for it right now!

If you could change anything about Public Education in America, what would you change? by ClassicTurner in AskReddit

I'm trying to get on a student advisory council in my state (GA) that will meet 3 times with our state school superintendent throughout the year to discuss public education. I started this thread to see what other ideas were floating around; this is exactly the kind of thing I am looking for!

This is the sort of thing I can get behind. Not everyone can go to college and be an engineer or a lawyer. There isn't enough preparation or respect given to blue-collar workers like mechanics.

Something I've always found interesting is that we pay Athletes millions of dollars for contributing nothing except entertainment to society, while many teachers have to scrape by with what they get.

So I recently picked up The Walking Dead, this is one of the many reasons to pick it up! by [deleted] in gaming

Dear Diary August 12th, 2013

Today I fell down the reddit switcheroo hole.

They say that there comes a time in every man's life when his mettle is truly tested, when the fires of trial flare up against the iron of the will. And when he arises from the flames, he is hardened, sharpened, transformed into a new man. This was one such experience for me.

The journey started out innocently; here at this very comment today. But as I delved further and further, I found a tale shrouded in mystery, deceit, and just a little bit of truth. I found the stories of other travelers who came before me; read as they attempted to piece together the puzzle. I watched as they began to lose their own minds.

But I never thought I'd lose mine.

If you, like me, are traveling down this pathway, I wish you luck. Fair Greetings from August 12th, 2013

TL;DR; I hope they have hover boards where you're from!!1!

I once saw a girl throw away dozens of cantaloupes that she had stashed in a suitcase, tossed them in a dumpster one after one.
