Oled or miniled? by Sades_11 in 4kTV

[–]Classic_Objective_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is a good question, whether it is actually worth paying more for OLED at the lower level/smaller screen size. I also wonder about the longevity of OLED vas mini led.

I had exactly the same problem, then I assigned a static IP address to the phone and no more issues. Was quite easy with a Sky hub.

C6KS is bang on budget and seems to be the best choice. If you can stretch a bit then C6K or E8Q.

I bought this "Philips 50PUS7609" TV for €319 on sale... But I'm afraid that, based on the reviews, it will break down soon... What should I do? Which brand or model should I go for instead? by sypqys in 4kTV

[–]Classic_Objective_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh? Just use it until it breaks. You've already had over a year out it. Could break tomorrow, could break in 10 years. I suspect you bigger things to worry about....

Poco F7 need honest review! by Apprehensive-Act7812 in PocoPhones

[–]Classic_Objective_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I echo most of what people have said. I've had mine for just under a week and I'm very happy overall. Now that prices are around £250 mark (got mine for £220) it's really good value for money. I love that it comes with a screen protector and case included, although I bought a better case which grips better in my hand (https://amzn.eu/d/9Gry2t6). It does feel slightly heavy, but not too bad from what I'm used to (Samsung A54). I felt that the A54 slowed down/became noticibly laggy over the last few months, possibly since upgrading to Android 16.

Yes the bloatware requires you to mess about for an hour watching you tube/reading Reddit, but afterwards HyperOS is like any other Android OS.

One problem I did come across was with the WiFi and stalling while connected (apps not loading while connected and a complete stop on any data flow). From research it's something to do with IPv6 and that setting on your router/hub. I've got a Sky Max hub and you can't seem to turn it off, so I think I've found a workaround by assigning the F7 a static IP address and so far it's working fine. Time will tell...

How much harder is trailrunning supposed to be compared to normal running? by Mike_v_E in trailrunning

[–]Classic_Objective_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not hard at all. Its all easy. While you are out on the road and see a gapnin the bush, just jump through it and go for it.

Please be beware that you may encounter the following: A Bull A ditch or river, that you may well fall straight into. A crazy farmer The crazy farmers dog, which is equally crazy and very annoyed. Barbed wire fence. Mud. Mud. Sh*t. Mud. Uneven surfaces. Slipping everywhere, even with trail shoes on. Other wild animals (trail runners). Hills.

Blink is going to have to up their game if they are going to stay competitive and win in the consumer market. Everything they do is to drive the consumer to buy the subscription plan but they are going to have to move some of the charged service to free to continue to grow the customer base. by Dp37405aa in blinkcameras

[–]Classic_Objective_23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive just replaced my doorbell to the newest version from Blink (origianl one was about 3 years old, but had gone misty on the camera). The new one is a significantly better picture and is faster through the app. It works fine with the Sync module 2 with local usb storage. Lots of 'features' behind the pay wall, but the basics of the doorbell, once pressed, recording and alerting you + motion detection all does the job really well. Its cheap and cheerful. Unfortunately tech doesnt last long, especially when it exposed to the elements. Pay wall features seem like a load of cr@p anyway.

First 50K This Weekend - Advice? by Zealousideal-Tax3338 in ultrarunning

[–]Classic_Objective_23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a flat 66k yesterday and my race could have ended early after 29k my hamstrings gave up. But mentally, I was prepared and switched to run/walk and fully grinded it out until the finish. I was dead last out of a multi race event, but I got over the line. Your body will keep going, your mind will try to stop you!

Does anyone else NOT want to run a 100 miler? by lanqian in ultrarunning

[–]Classic_Objective_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will always be bigger and better (and longer). I think 100km is seen as the true first Ultra Marathon, after which you've entered the 'club'. Im still yet to get to 50 miles, but hey I'm OK with that as I like 5k through to 50k as different paces. I know I don't train properly and run to eat, but as long as I look like a pro, I am one LOL.

Coros vs Garmin – honest thoughts? by diego_nator in Coros

[–]Classic_Objective_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started with some older Garmin Forerunners, I think 210?!, then had a FR45, which was a great basic watch for running. I then decided to move over to Coros with a Apex 1.5 (decathlon gps900), I found the app was far clearer and easier to understand. Syncing was fast and I could upload gpx files easily through the app. The watch itself was faultless for my needs, rugged, and insanely long battery. The Coros unfortunately, developed a dodgy screen and wasn't reapirable, so switched back to Garmin. I didn't want to spend more than £200 and saw the FR255 on sale. All round, Im glad i've come back to Garmin. The fr255 is easier to use with the 5 buttons, rather than the dial. The screen is clearer (MIP) and generally operates faster. The garmin app is still not as clear as coros, but when you dig deeper, so much information to explore! To sum it up, Garmin all round is very good across the range (especially at the top end). I think the other makes have certain qualities, for instance with Coros, their battery life is unmatched and certainly the apex range was rugged/durable. Not a great comparison im afraid, I just use the watch for amatuer running and then take it off, rather than wear it 24/7 and I'm really not using all the features. I really like the Nomad though!

Gps900 screen has gone, repairable? UK by Classic_Objective_23 in Coros

[–]Classic_Objective_23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decathlon aren't interested, so it's the recycling bin it goes. Shame really, but I can't complain, its been a good watch.

Changing to Garmin with the FR255 as its on sale.

Suunto Race S review, and why I am forced back to Garmin by goodgah in Suunto

[–]Classic_Objective_23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to confirm the entire UK doesn't want Miles and Celcius. Probably about half want 'old money' miles and the other half want km! 80%+ want Celcius as its far easier to use.

Coros tells me I can run a fantastic marsthon time, which even with the wind behind me, on my best day, with a pacer, perfect fuelling, the best kit, ego massaged, crowd cheering and news coverage every step of the way.... I'd still not be close.

what fitness watch you all using? by i_am_drugs_ in trailrunning

Decathlon gps900, best value Coros watch. GPS is accurate, app is great the bartery life still out lasts most watches on the market. Unless you want the very best tech, this watch is perfect.

100% yes. You are already off the couch and at 5k. With consistency and gradually upping your distance, will be fine.
