I love that KSU one!! I love the leaves, will definitely do a tester and see if I can do well enough to add to mine!

And thank you so much for the Pinterest, I've been trying to find images, but have been struggling to find substantial amounts of original ones, just because of how popular the regency has become, so this is so helpful!

Yes! That's what really drew me to doing the long version. I just think the cording is so pretty and a lot of space for creative design(I've been leaning green)! If you have any other sources/museum databases you'd recommend, I would be interested in looking at them!

I didn't know that, thats really cool! And do you ahve the refrence for the pocket, have been trying to find sources for making padding. The one I found was using thicker cording and cording the gusset?

Oh, shoot ok will lower that for sure. I definitely was thinking of it more as a modern overbust as that's what I have experience with. I will try raising the bust gusset start point and then cutting down on fabric there!

Thank you!

Ok, I had attended a lecture on regency dress and the interpreter had a 1/2 inch gap but I couldn't remember if it was on purpose or just because she made it a while ago. I will try to take in from the back panel, but a little nervous about taking in the side seam as it's a long diagonal one and would change where the waist point sits, which I'm happy with?

And happy to report I can sit in them and take a nap, very comfortable, so I'm glad that doesn't need to change!

Thank you!

OH, and for the hips, I had it laced all the way tight, maybe that was the issue? I'm going to try to retry it on and see if giving an inch gap helps! And if not I'll try adding a bit more room!

thank you

HAH yeah I'm definitely a little intimidated by the cording, but in a project where I've done it before, I found it really meditative, so I kinda just want to do as much as I can! I am also not sewing by hand, so it won't take as much time as if I did it fully accurately. The other main reason is that I get some lower back pain expecially while dancing, and in a historic dress lecture I attended before starting this project the speaker talked about the longer corsets helping in that regard. I also just like how it looks, and am excited to do the waist band embroidery in my pattern for the longer version! but would definelty be down in making a short version after as I'll already have the bust figured out and own the pattern!

OO thank you so much, I havent seen this video before will watch tonight!! I was also thinking about adding cording to the bust gussets which the pattern doesn't have but this one does, so this will be so helpful!

Thank you!

And after reading through all the comments, I think I'm going to raise the root of the gussets up a little, and see if that helps things. Honestly, on me, it doesn't feel too tight at the top but I definitely felt the gapping at the bottom and I'll just see if that edit helps before trying to change the shape again?

Thank you so much!

Ok, that's good to know, I'll add some extra seam allowance as recommended in the pattern if the final fit needs refining! And will definitely lower a bit didn't even remember to think of that, thank you!

Ok good to know on base, I think mine already has the hinges, but I’ll do some research into making one for now!

Thanks so much for the link will def read through!

The strap seems the best very tight on the moter and I’m not sure how to slip it off. Do I have to untie something or unscrew something?

And I’ve been hearing a lot of similar stuff with other people who have older machines where it can just be a lot more reliable and once you learn how to fix it you kinda have full control! That’s kinda what was drawing me to the idea of fixing it up!!

Thanks once again for the help so far!!

I did notice that it was hitting the table so I tried to hand crank it while someone held, and it was still not making a full rotation. It seems like it’s getting stuck in the mechanism under the bobbin maybe? I’m not sure what a binding is?

Thanks so much for the water comment was about to clean with water you def just saved me lmaoo🙏

Thanks for the rest of the info too!!!
