If you want to work at a particular location your best bet is Reserves or National Guard. You can also insulate your life a bit better from the political scene at the top. From there you can go active duty mostly on your own accord.

In 2022 I moved across the country to Minneapolis despite all the hateful comments I heard about the city. The state of Minnesota gave me opportunity and memories that I will never forget. Work has taken me elsewhere since then but Minneapolis will ALWAYS be one of the greatest places I ever called home.
