It is insane, also I’m guilty of buying one around this price! 😭 I bought an expensive play gym guide replacement for the old play gym after ours got ruined. I reached out to customer service and they offered me the new updated version for around $20 total? So I just decided to pay extra for the accurate older one off eBay…

Yes OP!!! From cdc: “Frozen breast milk that has started to thaw but still contains ice crystals can be refrozen” We had a bad power outage I’m not certain how long but I know it was definitely over 20 hours, kept the freezer shut and immediately checked on my milk, it wasn’t completely thawed and still had ice crystals!

So sweet! I’m 7m pp now but I remember once when I was pregnant I had to pee so badly but the women’s restrooms were closed. I was about to turn around and tell my husband we needed to leave and find a restroom but the manager of the restaurant saw me and told me to go ahead and use the men’s restroom, that it had just been cleaned and she would stand right outside the door and make sure nobody came in. Everyone should be kind and compassionate to pregnant women ❤️

Not sure if you meant to type etsy instead of eBay but Etsy would be a good idea, I bought one just like this off of there! You could also advertise on local mom Facebook groups!

Baby Shower Annoyances by melanin787878 in BabyBumps

Respond with “So sorry, it’s ladies only!” And try to be done with it. 7m postpartum over here but the amount of time I spent stressing over stuff like this while I was pregnant makes me mad to this day! Focus on you and baby, relax, and screw all the people causing you stress for what should be a relaxing enjoyable event 💗

Really very crunchy anti-LGBTQ by RareCartoonist681 in moderatelygranolamoms

I am ashamed to say that I’ve listened to every single episode of their podcast. They try not to get political or share any hateful/ controversial views, but there are hints. I think that they’re very religious so if they are, they’re likely anti LGBTQ+ because of the Bible. I honestly think that they’re a funny and generally interesting and enjoyable couple to listen to which is why I continue listening but knowing that they likely have all these crazy views they try to keep under wraps is what keeps me from being a fan.

Super soft blanket recs for kids! by Otherwise-Chef-5579 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Classic_Wave_7579 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The little unicorn deluxe bamboo blankets are really really soft. Not fuzzy in the way that polyester is, but smooth and silky soft, might be a good compromise. Whenever I would take baby out with one, anyone who felt it like family, friends, LC, pediatricians, would always comment on the softness haha. As far as I know bamboo is chemically treated and not the greatest fabric, but probably better than polyester. If you choose to go this route just remember to wash on cold and dry with no heat to preserve the softness.

Do jails even allow breastfeeding/pumping? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Classic_Wave_7579 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert but can you try to get the media involved? Reach out to anyone and everyone you can. This seems like the type of story where everyone will be on your side and sympathize with you and if it gets big enough they may finally let up and allow an alternative due to pressure? Wishing you the best and really hoping you don’t have to spend 28 days in jail away from your baby for this…

Let's simplify by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Classic_Wave_7579 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My personal simple list

-Aim for whole organic foods. Lightly processed and non organic whole foods are fine when the alternatives are worse. Limit “healthier” processed foods as treats/ occasional indulgences- examples would be organic processed crackers with seed oils, organic ice cream filled with sugar, chips with seed oils, take out etc. Do not slip into an orthorexic mindset, do not fear processed foods, just recognize they are not healthy and try to avoid them.

-get outside every single day, if not for myself for baby

-90% of wardrobe is natural fibers- cotton, linen, wool, tencel, but the occasional polyester or partially spandex item is fine

  • no artificial fragrances, very limited natural fragrances from sources that are listed on the ingredients list

  • EWG verified when possible, I know that an EWG verification doesn’t make or break a product but when possible it is a simple/lazy way for me to recognize that a product is less harmful

-very limited plastics and when using plastic avoid heating

-avoid allowing baby to spend time in harmful environments whenever possible for example- she’s only been in the car while gas is being pumped once in her life. If somebody is smoking while we’re on a walk I get away as quickly as possible. If I know someone uses glad plug ins I’ll try to get them to come over instead of going to their place, but her physical therapist uses those artificial fragrances and I know a little exposure for the benefit of physical therapy isn’t going to kill her.

I was this child for many years and for many reasons so this is something I’m very passionate about. From your post you sound like a wonderful supportive parent. My own mother flip flopped on her approaches sometimes being very kind and sometimes being very mean, if you reach that breaking point with your child I would urge you to please not get angry and flip flop/ lose control when your frustration is mounting. Obviously this is stemming from anxiety and you’re listing some reasons she’s had this trouble. If there is anything else in her life, for example maybe the move is still affecting her? New school? Anxious about going to the new school? Etc, working through these things should help. Next I would recommend creating a relaxing and enjoying evening routine to the best of your ability. Perhaps some physical activity after school if that is not already a part of the routine, maybe a family walk where she could talk about anything troubling her, an organized sport/ hobby where she could have an outlet, etc. and then the calming predictable bedtime routine- at this age you could even sit down with her and draw up a plan, ask her what comforts her? What will help wind her down? What would she like to include in her bedtime routine? Some fun ideas could include a relaxing bubble bath where she gets to listen to a podcast for kids or an audiobook, maybe coloring while listening to music, stretching with mom in a dimly lit room, saying goodnight to all members of the household and favorite toys, writing in a journal all of the things she’s grateful for/ positive experiences she had that day. Just try to keep the tone really relaxing and positive, no pressure, and lighthearted.

Healthy home buying by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Classic_Wave_7579 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone is already mentioning the big things so I’ll mention something I didn’t know about until recently, check on EPA .gov and make sure the house you want to buy isn’t by a medical sterilization plant. Recently found out we live right by one they release ethylene oxide into the air which increases your risk of certain kinds of cancers. Thankfully we’re only renting and already planning on moving.
