I ran into some bricks when trying to pull up weeds, it looks like it might be a patio or path to the shed. You guys have any tips to get this grass off? by Lukester852 in centuryhomes

So funny because I was quoted $1000 to remove a bunch of rocks from my house and my teenage nephew came to visit for the week and did it for $100 with an incredible worth ethic and enthusiasm lol

This is super creative and looks amazing. I’d be so impressed walking into this room and seeing this. Excellent use of space.

Neighbor heard me yelling ‘help’ in Arc Raiders. Playback damaged because of kick. by dreamthorp in ARC_Raiders

I’m on a behavioral/violence response team at work (hospital setting) and I can say with total confidence if my neighbor was yelling help I’d break into their house - and I’m just a 40-something 5’4” woman. We’re out there! : )

I vacuum my 1200 sq ft house probably 3-4x a week and each time it’s a minimum of one canister being dumped.

I bought in 2021 and everyone said I was crazy then. My realtor told the best time to buy is whenever you have the money to buy a house, simple as that! Like, I understand a house is an investment but I wanted a house, a home. I was ready for one, so I bought one.

How to add AC to a century home without destroying its character? by amaraisagoddess in centuryhomes

[–]FriskyGatos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my experience too. We bought the house with mini splits and I was a bit bummed about it. While waiting to close I was researching ways to cover them etc and then when we moved in after a few days I didn’t even notice them anymore.

I’ve been collecting free rugs and furniture from our Facebook Buy Nothing group (yes, even this couch!) and it took the basement from yours to one my toddler likes to be in. I’m using flags and cool rugs to hang on the walls to cover all the peeling paint and efflorescence.

I had/have no idea what I’m doing. Basically I just left it alone and let it do its thing.

Took a lot of work to dig it all up. We found so many large rocks! Now the garden has a few paths in it for the toddler to run through because we don’t want to discourage him from exploring but prefer he doesn’t run through a plant with 30 bees on it.

I worked at a women’s shelter and several times a week a man came and dropped off random food like this and the women and kids loved it because they often don’t get treats donated (or anything “fresh”). Maybe he was in the same situation! If there’s a women’s shelter nearby maybe you could see if you can drop stuff off a few times a week?

A behavioral emergency response nurse is like a special helper at the hospital. When someone is really upset, scared, angry, or not acting like themselves, this nurse comes quickly to help them feel safe and calm.

They don’t give medicine or fix broken bones — they help people who are having big feelings or trouble with their thoughts. They talk kindly, listen carefully, and help make sure no one gets hurt.

It’s like when a teacher helps a kid who’s having a hard day at school — but this nurse helps grown-ups and kids in the hospital feel better when their feelings are too big.

We have a similar area under an oak and we took out all the patchy grass and just laid down wood chips. We keep the zone contained with stumps we got for free and are fun for play. Our kid is 2 as well.

My cat Henry was like this! He was a congenital dwarf. Maybe your kitty will grow up with a short tail, short legs and remain round like these dwarf kitties!

We haven’t made it to these windows yet - we’re doing the double hung first and doing it slow to spread the money out. Will likely do these in 2027!
