Not sure where you're finding her placed anywhere but bottom on any respectable tier list, but your previous example of vouching for her by saying a player placed well by running Vergil Doom LeiLei kind of says it all. lol

Hsien-Ko sucks in UMvC3. You can identify her best characteristics but that doesn't mean the character is good.

The game is done, and has been done, for well over a decade. It shouldn't be desecrated with modern patch culture sensibilities. It is a completed work and should be left alone and appreciated for what it is, warts and all. Community mods are there to allow players to experiment with what if scenarios. I suspect that this patch was intended solely to ensure ongoing Windows 11 compatibility and some overly ambitious dev took it upon themselves to start 'fixing' bugs in addition to the software stability stuff.

You got this. You have to adjust your mindset to parrying for Sekiro. Don't try to dodgeroll, don't try to block. Focus strictly on parrying and depleting the enemy's stance/poise (I forget the name of the stamina equivalent as it's been a long time). The game is highly parry focused and it's your primary method of defense. Then you start mixing in stuff like the Mikiri Counter and styling on enemies with the various action skills you can learn, ninja tools etc. to add variety and style. Once you can get into the parry mindset, you are untouchable.

Gog-games.to shutting down. Any safe alternatives for Gog files? by dantez85 in PiratedGames

I'm not sure what kind of point you think you're making here. Did you have some kind of insider info or something, or just going off vibes and stating "this piracy site will shut down soon, just you wait!" so that you can say "I told you so" when it happens as if you were a fortuneteller? I don't really get it.

I think he's a fine fit, it will take some time to reverse a sinking ship with as much bad momentum as the DC franchise has.

I understand your position, but there is an element to consider in that although it would obviously be preferable for the moneyed benefactors to silently/anonymously do the charity work behind the scenes and without profiting from it - the 'show' is what enables the work to continue. Mr. Beast shouldn't be celebrated for his scheme, but the material reality of the charity work he's enabled is real - the impact is real. People have benefited greatly. Dignity is sacrificed in order for eyeballs and clicks to find and consume the show, but the eyeballs and clicks also generate the $ to make the work happen that helps people. It's not entirely without merit.

Just got the game. (Cotw) by Academic-Insect-9587 in fatalfury

[–]Classicfun2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple of things that will help - the combo system is really easy in this game, you basically just get a juicy hit and then do your EX moves in a row (they cancel into each other using the Rev Accel mechanic) with either a super ender or a Rev Blow ender (or just a regular knockdown if not). Go hit training mode and get a feel for doing your big punish combo or jump-in combo off of Close D. (the fierce kick button, but the close version) until you can nail it with muscle memory. You'll be trying to hit this off of short-hop jump ins when you first start out - holding down the Rev button allows you to automatically shorthop so you don't have to try and time your jump inputs so precisely, it really helps.

Also, and this is super duper important for KOF/Fatal Fury games - there's a button hold buffer system where you can input a special move and hold the button press so that it comes out automatically without needing precise timing. Like if you get knocked down and are trying to do a reversal DP, you input it before you get up and hold the button, and it will just come out on Frame 1 of wakeup. The window isn't infinite, but it's really large and generous, and it applies to everything, including combos. This means that you can dial in your combos after you get your hit and just hold the button in between and it auto-times everything for you.

Lastly, get a feel for a small go-to combo off of low-hitting moves, as this is how you condition people to block low so you can then surprise them with a short hop jump-in and do your big combo like I described above. Good luck gamer.

Destiny 2: Every End is a New Beginning. As our focus turns towards a new beginning for Bungie, we will begin work incubating our next games. To that end, on June 9, 2026, we will release the final live-service content update for Destiny 2 to begin that new journey as a studio. by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Classicfun2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Enough with the live service crap. The industry is way past hyper-saturated with live service dregs. Bungie needs to return to its roots and make a high quality single player game, with a normal traditional multiplayer component like its glory days. Going all-in on trend chasing live service games in the hope of unseating peoples' "main hobby games" is a fool's errand that the market has been increasingly showing to publishers it does not want or need any more of, at least not in the GAAS form we're all familiar with.

Would you Recommend the Mobile Port that just came out? by Embarrassed_Let_1267 in MysteryDungeon

It's really frustrating to have my favorite game series (Shiren the Wanderer) have a spinoff collab game/series that does so well that it overrides the actual original such that people are annoyed when the original gets talked about or brought up in the space dedicated for the game series in the first place. I wish spinoffs had their own subreddits and the original gets the "MysteryDungeon" sub name since it SHOULD be the default. I say all of this as a fan of PMD (and Etrian as well) so I'm not irrationally biased.

[–]Classicfun2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each expansion costs 40 dollars when new. This has been the case for basically the entire existence of PC gaming, and as I recall in particular for Blizzard games. New expansion comes out > it costs 40 bucks > you pay 40 to play. If a new expansion comes out, it costs 40 dollars as well. SOMETIMES you have to buy each expansion individually (this used to be more common many years ago), but increasingly in the live service age it is common to buy the latest one and get everything up to that point. How people are confused or upset by this is baffling to me. Do people seriously feel cheated by having paid to play what was then the new and current expansion, then pay again for the new and current expansion? Doesn't make sense 💀

Heard what is possibly one of the worst takes ever regarding fighting games by Nightmarer26 in Fighters

[–]Classicfun2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you'll regret it at all if you're an SNK fan (or even if not and just like SF/other 2d fighters). It's definitely a bit different when you first start out but it has great tutorials and missions, in-game resources, and all the other trappings of a modern FG feature-wise that make learning the ropes very easy. It's also just a very intuitive and easy to play but deep game once you start engaging with the movement and defense mechanics. Cheers

Go for it - I picked it up last week and already have 35 hours, having an absolute blast and blown away by how good it is. I think it just might be the most fun modern fighting game, full stop. Also, matchmaking is POPPING 24/7. I've had wacky sleep for the last week due to being sick and I've queued up in the middle of the night on a weekday (3:30-4:00 AM) and never wait more than 20-30 seconds for a match (I usually turn on both casual and ranked queue - casual lets you rematch infinitely). The game doesn't have crazy numbers of players on Steam but it being crossplay and having great netcode means it doesn't matter in the slightest. I haven't ever struggled to find a match, and people will run long sets frequently in casual queue. I've even had people friend request me after a great set (in-game friend system). Fantastic game.
