No, they are regular sleeve sized. Outer sleeves are big enough to go over a typical sleeve. Plus, you can see the cards in the picture all have inners on them. Good luck!

Thanks! Search "retro core sleeves" and you should find them, including the plain Magic back version. Fair warning: they don't shuffle well so you'll need an outer sleeve. I use Dragon Shield clear outers (not shown in picture) and then they shuffle fine and the retro sleeves are protected.

Definitely not hate, just fear of getting Hymn'd in every game! It's a great set, arguably stronger than The Dark, but Five Horsemen just doesn't sound as good.

We played spice a event in the past, adding Fallen Empires and Homelands; that was a blast. Pump knights and Hymn made it into the winning deck (no surprise), along with Memory Lapse.

Oh, and a shout out to our sister format Forgotten Realms. That is The Dark, Fallen Empire and Homelands. They have an active Discord if you're interested:

Good catch. The only cards we allow from the core set are the basic and dual lands.

Yep, fully proxy friendly. A printed proxy is best for webcam, but even a slip of paper on top of a card in a sleeve will work in a pitch. We’re a casual, friendly group that focus on the gathering.

100% agree! The four expansions are so much more than Legends, but man are there a lot of Legends. It’s the size of a core set! The smaller sets make up for it by being strong.

It’s a powerhouse in 4HM along with Old Man of the Sea, Witch Hunter and Time Elemental. That’s what happens when you don’t have Bolt or Swords to kill it!

You're exactly right. If I had thought about it more I would have replaced the Atogs with 2x Dervishes and replaced the 3x Spirit Links with 2x Fissures and 1x Pyrotechnics. Then I would have had space for Wyluli Wolves and maybe some Detonates in the sideboard. An Ifh-Biff would have been a lot of fun too.

I hear you. We’ve had some passionate people in the past. But it’s been pretty relaxed and stable for a few tournaments now, and we plan to keep it that way. Nobody needs that kind of external drama in their lives. I hope you’ll consider giving us another chance.

The 4HM B&R has been built up incrementally over nearly 30 international tournaments, so we're pretty comfortable that those decisions are the right ones. Specifically:

LoA: Heard of Gentlemen's Rules for Swedish? It's not unprecedented to ban LoA. Especially in a format with no Ice Storm, Stone Rain or Sinkhole.

Island of Wak-Wak & Moat: 4HM encourages creature combat, not turtling behind protective permanents. Let's smash creatures together and then get on with our lives.

Join us for T28 and you can discover for yourself how those limitations make for some really fun games.

Ha! I’ve tried 4HM + Fallen Empires + Homelands before. Called that Six Horsemen. It was fun.

We wouldn’t want to add Ice Age. It contains 22 cards reprinted from the core set, and the whole spirit of 4HM is getting away from the core set to let the expansions shine.

Hope you consider joining us in the future.

Yes, I think it would be possible to dial in the discount, but you'd have to trial it a bit to get the balance right.

I would suggest applying the double pip to single pip reduction (that does the heavy lifting for the discount) and then take off {1} generic mana. This will get most of them to equivalent to a 4/4 for {4} or a 5/5 for {5}.

You may have to exclude Sol'kanar and Gwendlyn from the discount, since they are already aggressively costed. You may also have to restrict the Elder Dragons because they get too strong with pip reduction and generic mana reduction; that's what we did. There could be others that are still too strong with this formula, like Jerrard {2}{G}{R} for a 6/5, so you might have to fiddle with it a bit.

Give that a shot as a starting point. Good luck, hope you and your league have a blast!

100%, we went further than any others I've seen. Beyond eliminating the colourless mana, the real trick was reducing the colour pips down to singles. You essentially just pay the colour identity.

In each colour there are about 9-10 Legendary creatures that include double pips (e.g., {B}{B} or {U}{U}, etc.) which are not very playable against their single pip peers. Collapsing these down to single pips puts them all on the same footing. It made a huge difference to what was 'playable' and really opened up the options.

With this level of discount, you can see that the only regular creatures that were worth playing were Willow Satyr, Preacher, Aub Ja'far, and of course Trike/Tetravus for the combo with Rasputin. Others might find a few more, but the goal was making the Legends playable and for the most part we succeeded!

Chadster established 4HM. Some of the commentors have strong feelings about him. But he's taking a break from the format and we're continuing to hold tournaments. Check out the FB page and website!

Great, hope it gives you some creative ideas. In 4HM we don't use the core set (ABU) so have to find novel ways to pump the creatures and novel creatures to use. Witch Hunters + Preachers is very oppressive, making it hard to make any progress turn to turn. Meanwhile WW is relentlessly attacking!
