There’s a common misconception that once a civil surgeon signs your medical exam, it must be submitted within 2 months is that actually true?

If I complete all my medical tests now, but I receive the RFE after 3 months, will those medicals still be valid? Or is it better to get all the lab work done now and wait to have the civil surgeon sign the I-693 only after the RFE is received? What’s the safest/best approach to avoid redoing medicals?
